" Canton Stand Renamed - CROESO STAND "(Welcome Stand)

Just looked at picture and going by other welsh signs, it does mean (the welcome stand!) Have to ask club if its a name change because it's not been mentioned anywhere before.

Yep can't remember anyone moaning about about the spar family stand or even calling it that at ninian.

I hope people still call it Canton, regardless of what it is officially called.

Imagine if United fans kept calling their training ground the AON Training Complex as opposed to Carrington because of the naming rights.

Or Newcastle fans saying 'I'm going to the Sports Direct Arena'. It just won't happen.

It can't mean welcome to the stand. As Eisteddle Croeso translates directly into Croeso stand. Same as on the outside of each stand. Eisteddle Ninian, Grange etc..

All it is saying is WELCOME and (stand is in Welsh and english.
It does not name the stand it is just calling it a stand, with welcome in the middle

As a fluent welsh speaker i can honestly say that "Eisteddle Croeso" does indeed translate directly to the "Croeso Stand" (or "welcome stand" for you Saes speakers!)

I imagine that the stand name will quickly be dropped IF we have a very bad season!!! (wink wink)

But that would be pretty pointless as I think everyone can gather it's a stand.

If it was welcoming us to the stand, it would say 'Croeso y Eisteddle Canton'.

Swansea have the same sponsorship and their north stand was also renamed the Croeso Stand.

I wouldn't be. The translation of the Welsh wording would suggest that I'm right. If the stand hasn't been renamed, then the only thing that's wrong, would be the welsh wording.

If the stand has been renamed, then I would be correct with my posting. If it hasn't, the only incorrect thing would be the wording on the Visit Wales banners. As the text clearly states it as the "Welcome Stand".

It looks like it will be.

Went down the stadium earlier and 'Eisteddle Canton Stand' had been taken down, replaced with a big, wide rectangular frame. Looks like a big red sign with Visit Wales - Eisteddle Croese will be going in there, or something along those lines.

Did I say that it was? Visit Wales should have been knocking down our door a long tome ago, not just because our profile has increased. That was my point.
