Allen was 15m. In terms of Wanyama I don't believe there has been any report from a reliable source that we are interested in him. Would be a great signing though whichever side he goes to. Made for the Premier League in my opinion.

Allen £15m. The gypos stitched you up there.
Then they did Man City for £5.5m for Sinclair.

I think we stitched ourselves up. We have been pretty poor in the transfer market and it is one of the big reasons why Spurs have overtaken us. 35m for Carroll and 20m for Downing set us back a lot. If only we had invested that money properly.

I think it was partly. Never really figured out in the end who was behind those transfers but I would imagine it would have been a combination of Kenny and Damien Comolli. Thankfully our last transfer window was actually half decent with us bringing in Coutinho (who has been an amazing find) and Sturridge (who scored consistently after he arrived but still remains to be seen if he can keep that up for an entire season) because otherwise I would be even more downbeat than I am currently.

Still though this is a very important transfer window coming up for us because the teams around us have all been strengthening and we were many points behind 4th place at the end of last season. So far it has been ok with us getting some quick deals done for Toure, Aspas and Luis Alberto but no big signing to get the fan base excited.

I wasn't trying to highlight the fee for Allen! More the fact that they only spent a large fee on him last season and with the players they already have available to play in central midfield couldn't see them signing another ?

Also he already seems to be spending a fair bit and I know they have savings from Carroll's wages and his transfer but I thought he had a restricted budget this summer unless Suarez leaves for around £40 million ?

The Victor Wanyama saga shall come to an end this week when he picks what EPL side his future lies at. Celtic are due to make £11.1m profit.
