Wether you like it or not the EDL are regerded by the UK goverment as a dangerous group so of course the police will put restrictions on where they can walk. I mean its obvious it would have caused problems if they had walked past a Mosque

They do arrest them the problem is the UK legal system is shite and its hard to prove people like Choudary have done anything to warrent a prison spell freedom of speech etc. If they havent actually gone out and comitted a violent crime then it is hard to arrest them the systme will find nothing warranting a prison spell and by arresting them you will just encourage more hatred from certain muslims against the police as they will see it you arrested somebody who was then found innocent and Choudary then can use that propoganda to help indoctrinate more people into his way of thinking

the issue is, it wasnt just any mosque, it was the mosque by woolwich barracks. So soon after the tragic death of Lee Rigby they were only doing it to incite racial hatred.
