or what if the rest of the shareholders got together and said they'd sort out a deal to pay tan off with the tv money and then cut costs to safeguard the future of the club

i assume most fans would be happy with that as the future of the club is most important ?

I would, a lot of reluctant reds better start manouvering themslves because the red or dead 'reason' for backing the rebrand won't exist for much longer.

I'm not speaking for anyone, the facts don't lie.

How many fans do we have?

How many are actively doing something about it?

Answer these honestly and I think you'll find my original statement of "most fans just don't care" to be true.

Of course they do but only a handful care enough to do something about it.

Given the current bids supposedly on the table, whilst our debt level is troubling - it shows that we have the collateral behind us to be able to fund this. By all accounts it's from VT directly (albeit at 7% interest) - but do you really think he'll just walk away if it all went tits up?

There was a previous bushy-eyed owner, (that would have had us liquidated btw - oh no he wouldn't, he's one of us, he LOVES us :laughing5: ) that many on here would have backed to the hilt if he had done this - which is obviously laughable.

Tell you what, get your "mate" to agree on what's allegedly owed to him - or, better still for OUR club, get him to reveal who "Langston" are (as if we don't know :laughing5: :laughing5: )

A good business man knows when to cut n run and if it 'all goes tits up' I fully expect him to cut and run. Why would he pump more money in?

Maybe something to do with exposure that the Premier League brings to a company hoping to develop it's market, plus the fact that you now get £60m+ for finishing bottom - before s/t's, sponsorship etc is even brought into the equation?

The exsposure he'll get from a club that's gone tits up? WoW

Cardiff's not going to go tits up so don't fret.

Re: ' So Malky will be fully backed by Vincent Tan/BUT? '

Sat Jun 29, 2013 4:37 pm

Im not worried about a thing. Whats the point? I give you Andreas Cornelius. Totally out the blue. Hell of a signing. I haven't doubt that Malky has his targets for defence and midfield and is getting closer. Signing Cornelius is a BIG signal of intent and if we are in talks with players who are undecided then they only have to look at Cornelius to see we mean business. 40pts? 17th place? not a chance. Annis is right about that. Tan dont want to come to the Premiership party just to make up the numbers. we got an amazing shrewd feller in charge. what a shame hes such a stupid tw*t over the rebrand

Re: ' So Malky will be fully backed by Vincent Tan/BUT? '

Sat Jun 29, 2013 5:16 pm

Are we struggling to bring high quality players to Cardiff?
Too early to judge.

Are we aiming for a lot higher than just survival?
Too early to judge, only one signing so far.

Going on with what players we have been linked with so far,is Malky strengthening the right areas in your opinions?
No talk of any defenders as yet.

Seems that the "links" and "talk" has no relation to the actual deals being completed, albeit one so far.

Does spending big money worry you or are we so far in debt, the money does not worry anyone anymore?
One of the big myths is that debt is a bad thing. Most countries and companies carry debt, when banks stop lending the economy suffers. Few can save the full price of a house before they buy one. There are some very successful clubs that are now consistently at the top through heavy investment and I can remember when they were in a lower league...Chelsea, Man C. Would be interesting to see statistics of investment versus success or failure overall. QPR is often quoted but are they the rule or the exception?

scare me that. if Hammam wuld have won the Club would have gone into liqidation we'd have bin fucked. wuld his supporters have then been blaming ridsdale and pmg for the club going bust? b,ame anyone but the obviously guilty onei honstly think there are still a couple that think if he'd won. he'd have sat down and sorted a deal so the Club wuld have survived. my arse.

one thing is for sure, the 10 or 15 million he owes sam hammam is really just small potatoes now...

Some good questions Annis, and Some good responses within this thread.
I believe Malky like many on ere has recognised our weaknesses .
Everyone was calling out for a target man (forward) and now we have player who appears to fit into that mould.

I believe Malky will bring in players (young)should we fail ,will have a good sell on value .
The club biggest statement of intent has been their proposed stadium expansion.

I think many of the players we are being linked with come about from Tans announcement of the 25 mil tag . Every agent has now picked this up and has attached us with their player. The rags then snow ball the story .....

Should we worry about the debt ... Honestly what can we do ?
IMO we will be more indebted to Tan more than we was 12 month ago.

The debt situation is a long winded subject but I do not believe it is only about "keeping VT interested"

He has a definite plan which involves us in being floated on a stock market somewhere in the Far East and that is how he will eventually get his money back. Before he does that he has to achieve a few things

1. Get us into the Premier League (& keep us there)
2. Eliminate the clubs debt
3. Add infrastructure value to the club (stadium expansion/training ground/academy)
4. Comply fully with the new Financial Fair Play regulations
5. Attract large external sponsorship/advertising (primarily from the Far East)
6. Get us into European Competition

The club could then issue an attractive IPO citing a stable debt free club with several lucrative revenue streams. All of this will take time but I can see the bulk of the above being in place within 2 to 3 years. Only then will we know the true value of our club.

As for attracting players again this is all part of the grand plan. By having a number of young sort after players with significant resale value for example (Cornelius, Ince, Bo-Kyung) the club is extremely attractive to outside investors when it is floated.

Finally by definition for all of this to work we have to be aiming far higher than 17th place, although for next season only that would be acceptable. But I honestly believe the FFP regulations will start to have an affect on Premier League clubs especially those who we would consider as our rivals for now (Sunderland Newcastle Fulham Aston Villa etc) and if we are ready and prepared it could see us stealing a march on the rest.

In % terms you are absolutely correct. That's why for example Bluebirds Unite will struggle for now. City are in the PL, expanding the stadium signing quality players so the vast majority simply don't care what colour we play in or where the money to pay for it all is coming from.

That said there is a small amount who do care and there is nothing wrong with talking about it amongst ourselves.

Quite right, but the poster i was talking to claimed in a different thread a few days ago that BU were so big they could railroad Tan into settling the Langston debt. He seems a little nuts.
