you can accept as many bids as you like as its up to the player which one gets sealed in the 3 way contract. they may well have accepted a bid from you also, but you have just spunked away 500k on nothing if the rumour posted on this thread is true... which lets face it is highly doubtful.

No need to pray, just ask and you shall get the answer.
there clearly wasn't a written contract between the clubs no matter what Jenkins believed.

So you're saying your Chairman is so incompetent that he can't even get a transfer contract sorted out even though there was confirmed interest from far bigger clubs and as such he cost your club a significant amount of money?

im saying my chairman that lead us from league 2 to the top half of the premier league, who posted £30.5m profit for the club in the last two years was incorrect in stating he had written agreement. Evertons bid proved otherwise. Nothing he did cost the club money, he cannot make other clubs write a written acceptance.
made an error? certainly... incompetent? you wish

Not necessarily. The teams may have strict transfer budgets and they may well have two million spare from their other targets and Redmond fit the bill quite well but the few hundred thousand more might mean they'd have to rearrange their targets a bit more.

If our bid of £2m has been accepted officially (in writing) then they can not demand more.
sorry.
Have you seen written evidence that this bid has been accepted - in writing ?
If not then the o.p has as much chance as being right as you have.
It may have been verbally agreed, and these people DO go back on these agreements, we've had it happen to us more times than I care to remember.
Who knows whether it's £2m, £2,2m or £2.5m - one might include VAT, one might include agents fees.. add-ons etc..
It's not as simple as you seem to think - however I doubt you have experience of buying anything more than a packet of sweets![]()
By the way I've no idea where he's going and although I'd be happy to see him come here, I'd far far rather Ince. Redmond seems a good player , but inconsistent from reports I've heard. Likely to go to Everton if they are in for him anyway.
im not saying its simple. I think its a ridiculous notion that you have bid 20% more than bids already accepted.

More than 1 bid has been accepted. Swansea & Norwich definitely. Possibly others as well, with Everton also mentioned .

Unfortunately you just wanted to be pedantic and try to point score, but failed.

not entirely sure how you came to that conclusion? It is reported everywhere you care to look that we have had a bid of between 2m and 2.2m. It is reported nowhere other than this thread that you have bid 2.5m for him. if you cant see the difference there then you really are a weapon![]()
