In all fairness over the years carls info has been spot on,so i think some of the comments are unfair.But i also have to agree if your not 100% sure dont post it just sends us lot over the edge

I knew the signing today.

I enjoy updates fella, people are missing my point, he DOES NOT need to post absolute bullshit, and IF he wasitk and had an insider then SURELY the leak would of told him about a deal BEING DONE RIGHT NOW and not whispers about MAYBE signings.

With the out of the blue acquisition of Andreas Cornelius for £8.5m today, Malky Mackay has started the spending on creating a squad which will be capable of playing, and hopefully staying, in the Premier League.

I have not looked at any youtube footage of Cornelius and only know his age, height and position through the very little I have read about him this evening but he sounds like the target man/striker that I believe our squad has lacked for some years, maybe now I can stop banging on both on here and in the Echo , fingers crossed the youngster will live up to his price tag.

I had what I can only describe as a wierd conversation today, I asked my mate who gives me info on transfers and such things, and the main topic of conversation was Victor Wanyama.

I asked him what had happened about the bid we made and the alleged acceptance of the offer. Here's the explanation given :

He told me that City made an offer (which we know now as it is public) but that talks take place between clubs/agents etc and City officials asked 'if we made an offer of x amount, would that offer be accepted?'

'Yes!'

City then make an official offer in writing but lower than the amount that was discussed.

That offer was rebuffed as we know now as it has been made public. What has not been officially confirmed by either club is what the offer amount was that was rebuffed.

I then turned and said 'but you told me that an offer was made and it has been accepted!'.

Here is the best bit :

"Carl, you got to remember, there is an offer and talks between clubs/agents etc that are discussed and agreed upon then there is an official offer, two very different things, welcome to the Premier League!"

So we made an offer verbally and Celtic, or an agent, agreed that would be accepted but we put in an 'official offer' of less and that was turned down. I don't know if you guys get it or accept it but it spun me out to be honest.

He was still adamant that City are still looking at getting the deal wrapped up.

Head spinning and a tad disillusioned I gave up on asking any more about Wanyama.

Ok, so what is the craic with Tom Ince then?

He told me that no 'official offer' has been made, yet. A lot of emphasis on the yet.

But did go on to say that it was Cardiff's intention to announce a 'big signing' whilst in Malaysia as a PR exercise and Ince was that player but with the trip cancelled that has put the deal off for a few days.

Now personally I don't see Ince as a big signing, in terms of a big name, but the price tag is big but there again we paid a big fee for Cornelius so would that fall into the big signing he was talking about?

In fairness he has always given me good info and the vast majority of names has given me have come to fruition, including the signing of Bellamy the first time around and that went on for 3 months so I do trust he is still giving me good info and hopefully we will see Wanyama and Ince paraded as new signings.

On a personal note, Malky Mackay and his staff keep their cards close to their chests regarding transfers and players they are lining up, more than any other manager we have had previously, and that was no more so evident than today with the signing of Cornelius out of the blue and not a mention of the player anywhere. So respect to Malky on that score as the info is not as readily available as in previous years and regimes.

exactly.....he wont allow any snippets to jeopardise a deal, just make the gossips look a bit daft maybe.....fair play. i mean, carl cant put it out there anyway as it could scupper a deal or let other clubs know about said target. all a bit pointless 2bh.

I take calrs updates with a pinch of salt. Nothing is definate until its is confirmed by the club. I enjoy Carls updates and fine them interesting. If anything they promote debate and start some great rumours. The press has also talked about deasl for Wanyama and Ince so it isnt only Carl is is report info.

Lay off the guy, he's only relaying what he is being told.. Enjoy it, take it as you will.. But grow up and stop calling people liers and becoming keyboard warriors

Sorry I find the whole idea pathetic. Carl has a track record with his information and any fair minded reader of this forum would accept there are bound to be a marginal error rate due to last minute hitches or a lost in translation tip off.

Been saying it for ages, so have a few others that malky gives out the info as a smoke screen. And I'd imagine probably pisses himself at Carl for posting it.
