If you want the best and want to do well then you have to pay these premiums. Is Ince worth £40k per week? In reality no but neither is Rooney worth £250k per week and neither is Torres worth £50m in a transfer fee.

Modern football is what it is.

I'd counter that by saying chelseas oscar is playing for brazil on bbc 3 now and he's on 40g a week. Courtinho another Brazilian for liverpool is on 20g a week. If you're talking english players everton were paying leighton baines 35 g a week last season.

Oscar signed as a foreign talent and unproven in Britain.
Coutinho signed as a foreign talent, unproven in Britain.
Baines has been at Everton for years and is pushing for a move elsewhere to a place where he'll get paid a hell of a lot more. He cant really demand more at Everton, he signed a contract years ago at near the going rate. Inflation kicks in and now the going rate is higher.

When you have donkey's like Carroll demanding £100k per week then £40k per week isn't that bad.

Oscar is a full Brazilian international.

Coutinho signed from inter Milan and is a superb player

Baines is a full england international who has been outstanding for everton

Carrolls performances arguably kept west ham in the prem last season.

Ince has just come back from a very poor under 21 tournament where he was taken off at half time against Israel.

I remember when football fans were just that. Football fans. Not bloody financial experts.

At one time, The only football on TV was match of the day.

At one time, footballers only earned as much as the people who watched them

At one time, we used to play in blue.

Times change- get used to it.

Agreed with the first 3.

Carroll arguably kept whu up? Plenty would argue that.

Don't think judging Ince on the u21 tournament is fair either. Seems that's was a disaster from start to finish for all involved.
