Not at all but even the amount of whom signed the petition are a minority. The petition is currently under 6000 signatures. Lets give them the benefit of the doubt here and ignore the fact that some fans of other clubs signed the petition.

Next season we will probably sell out. 25,000 fans + more often than not.

6,000 of 25k is 24%. Good going as Tan quoted 25%.

Problem is, there are plenty of fans who on any given match day fixture dont get in to the game or cant get a ticket. Our fan base increasing now due to our newfound PL status. For the sake of numbers and ease we'll put BU's support at around 15-20% of our overall fan base. Fair enough, still a minority to anyone who understands numbers/percentages.

Not far of the 25% then. Not bad for a group that has just started.

It'll be convincing the left over reluctant reds to get behind BU that will be the hardest part.

If they ventured outside their little bubbles they would understand that whilst VT is stabilising the club and bringing outside investment into CCS he has the vast majority of fans on his side.

Then there is the petition which was signed by many fans including me in good faith which was then used as an excuse to hold a protest march at a high profile game next season. I didn't sign up for that and frankly I feel deceived by BU.

We all want a return to blue but not at the expense of putting the club in jeopardy. That is why the feeling towards BU is one of dislike and yes hate in some quarters. If only they waited for a better opportune time in the future they would have much more support and would enhance their chances of success.

ATM every time they put something out it is just another chapter in their long running suicide note. This article is no different.

I'm not sure you're qualified to speak fotr the mainstream, I seem to recall you praising Malaysia as a thriving democracy, detailing how the great VT was very close to the Prime minister. Malaysia is not a democracy, people get arrested and detained indefinately without sufficient reason and journalism requires sanction from the state. unless i've got it wrong you're far away from the mainstream view on this.

If Malky is my god joined the BU cause. I'd probably leave it alone.

Joined the BU cause? I really haven't the time to join it as stated above, learn to read.

I'm suprised TOBW seems to care because he didn't for ages. I can't read it again but he doesn't seem to say that much really. I thought the whole point of the piece was to explain why BU is important but he doesn't make the case for how or why it is important. That important aspect seemed to come as an after thought 6 lines from ther end.

I respect TOBW and will read his views simply due to his pedigree as an avid city supporter but the bit about him having no attatchment to our historical colour blue due to the make up of his brain was a bit inventive and quite funny. Wasn't expecting that.

...and you are? He's entitled to his views and entitled to change them as a person when he wants. Doesn't need to explain them to you. No one even knows you exist. Just another fan who thinks they're more important than they actually are.

Spot on :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

BU also need to stop insulting Tan and CCFC fans who are reluctant reds/not so reluctant reds. For it to work you need to appeal your message to those people in a way that is persuasive to them. Not fire rounds at them and hope they cave in.

Tan insults many by changing our club colours, BUT HOW DARE YOU INSULT HIM BACK...

Makes you laugh doesn't it. The rebrand is bad enough but the way it is handled says that he and the club hierachy have little respect for us.

What makes me laugh, When ardent Tan fans criticise BU under the guise of 'normal' fan or mainstream reasonable view. It's clear for all to see what they're about in post history.

Pretty sure the main reason for the rebrand was not to insult people.

In other words, 'Tan insults MINORITY by saving club from potential closure and investing £100m which leads to club's promotion to Premier League'

Easy to make comments like that, see.

Furthermore, VT offered to scrap the rebrand due to initial fan opposition, only to reinstate it after MANY fans asked him to reconsider.

Most fans don't care enough about the rebrand to be insulted by it.

Coming from a BU supporter, I would say - Pot, Kettle, Black.

Evidence for my assertion comes from the red scarf intake on Red Tuesday, the sell-out of season tickets, the continued high intake of tickets last season, the very few amount of fans who gave up season tickets, the record sales of red shirts and the amount seen around the ground, speaking to just about every City fan I know (from recent fans to fans who were there in the 50s and 60s) none of which are bothered about the rebrand as it has secured the club's future.

See what i mean, you constantly knitpick about BU, banging on about how BU must appeal to fans on the middle ground, The above psot shows you aren't on the middle ground at all.

no, but it did.

invests 100 million? That's wrong for a start.

yes, I could make up comment too. Easy.

Do you honestly think it was ever canned? I don't... Kits would have already been put into production & the football league would already have been notified. It would have been too late to change it all back to the old badge and colours.

It's like Manty Python and 'The Life of Brian' revisited sometimes..

"What did the Romans (or in our case Vincent Tan) ever do for us?"

Erm, saved the club from almost certain Administration; absorbed the immediate debt and paved the way (albeit slowly) for the remaining debts to be sorted; got rid of the egg-chasers; got rid of Dave Jones (something I was against at the time  ); backed Malky to the hilt when he took us to one of our frequent Wembly finals; got us promoted to the Premier League

Apart from that? Erm, feck all!

In all seriousness, some people need to understand that hardly anyone is truly 'pro-red' but they are realistic and (on balance) the benefits have so far outweighed the detriments (althugh that, of course, is a matter of individual opinion and which we are all entitled to without being called anti-Cardiff City FC) ;) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
