Personally i haven't seen him play but i'm dubious about Kenyans as footballers, excellent stamina, great long distance runners but far too weak & skinny. Is this guy the greatest ever Kenyan player? i can't recall another.

if someone like the unwashed is going to base it purely on the odds now, there is nothing between us really.

Of course its not as simple as that

I still think the odds are perfectly fine tool to see whats going on, when finance is involved its worth peoples while to be correct... I just clearly jumped the gun and should have waited a little while, my bad.

I'm not saying he's definitely ours, but we've given ourselves a fighting chance of signing potentially one of the games great midfield players. If we capture him, it'll be a definitive moment for us

I just read on a bbc website that southampton have bid 12m

All was agreed between the clubs apparently mate, but Wanyama was more impressed with Malky than Cortese it seems.

He probably couldn't understand the Southampton MGR.
More used to a pleasant Scottish accent me thinks :malky:

Unwashed, your dig at Ledley running down his Contract...

Many people always say what Joe Did was wrong,he left Cardiff and failed to get us any compo by joining Celtic.
Celtic and Stoke cannot be compared on any level.
And he had issues with DJ and Riddler, who were running the show. Why would he want to lace their pockets?

It appears Southampton are about to sign him but are stalling because his agent is demanding 1 million pound to broker the deal. Outrageous!

Wages seem to be a stumbling block for Southampton. Would it be wise to sign him on a hollywood salary with our perilous finances? What if a really determined keyboard warrior suddenly puts the frighteners on Vincen Tan, starts sending him images of a Malaysia flag on fire. Will he leave us with Langstone? Honestly I can't cope following Cardiff It's worse than the plot lines in Dallas.

something was on here that certain players at the club have it written into their contracts that their wages would match any higher earner joining the club.

canna beat a bit of loyalty eh!!

I think All clubs have these sort of contracts, Probably the reason Southampton wouldn't sign him. Anyway, Would you want a 50k man in a relegation battle with a 10k man. When the chips are down in a dressing room these things get brought up in arguements. "so and so is on 50k he's not pulling his weight etc" It can undermine team unity.

Only seen Wanyama play once, and as he has a good game against a Barcelona side, who didn't really try that night, I cannot see how he is as good as worth £10 million. The rest of the time he plays full time postmen and labourers, not footballers.

He has turned down Southampton but he is in Kenya, so not even looking at the clubs who are allegedly interested in signing him. It seems obvious he just wants the money, and will go where ever the most wages are, irrespective of "desire to play football" c**p.
He is a mercenary and his claims that he has been loyal to Celtic, staying with them etc are a joke, as he has only been there 2 years. He tried to leave after one year (to QPR) so how is that loyalty?
He is just waiting for the big pay day and that is where he will go.
Personally I would make our offer with a take it or leave it.
Give him 24 hours and then pull out to stop him using us as a bargaining tool.

Just my opinion, but no one, not one single player in the SPL is worth 10million.
