You asked what he could do in Cardiff that he couldn't do in Swansea & that's an answer.

Dare I say that it's also a much nicer place for a footballer to live. As you lot keep moaning about, Cardiff get everything.

Yes, you can offer him Europa League, but aren't his current team in the Champions League next season?

And it's an answer I very much agree with. However the answer sort of proves what I was getting it, I can't see that being a factor in any decision to move.

I've never moaned about Cardiff getting everything, I don't live in either city so couldn't care less. I support the football club not the city and from a football standpoint Cardiff certainly don't get everything... Otherwise you would still be playing in blue.

If I had the option however of living in Cardiff or the gower then it would certainly be the Gower. And if I didnt like Swansea as a place at all and did indeed prefer Cardiff as a place then I would commute the 35 minutes to work.

Yes his current team is in the champions league I think. But he is in an inferior league and France has a 75% tax rate fr high earners. I'd imagine he would still prefer European football or some kind to none at all though, airport or not.

35 minutes from the Gower to Cardiff

Did you invent a high speed mono rail between the two areas?

Llandeilo is better than splott too, however it doesn't really mean Llandeilo is a great place, just better than splott. But as I've said, I live in neither city so i couldn't care less which one has better shops. If I was a footballer, given the close proximity of both cities then I would just pick the best football club and live where I wanted even if it meant Cardiff, what is it? 35 mins away?

However Pembrokeshire is nicer than both so I'd probably go live there. :ayatollah:

So he's moving from a Champions League team because he's not getting enough money.... Yet you feel he's going to accept less money from Cardiff for 2nd tier European football from Swansea...

Doesn't make any sense.

Cardiff can offer him more money. He's moving for money & willing to forego 1st tier European football for it (according to you) so by your own theories, he's more likely to accept a move to Cardiff. :ayatollah:

I didnt compare it to anything. I said just because something is better it doesn't mean it's good.

Lee trundle is better than Jason Bowen, however I'd rather we didnt sign either for the coming season.

No, hes moving from a champions league team because he has 12 months on his contract and Lyon want to cash in, the French league is inferior to the premier league and England/Wales doesn't have the tax restrictions France does.

If he moves to Swansea he gets a pay rise and gets to play European football. I'm not sure whats confusing you here.

He gets a pay rise? How did you work that one out? been co tral to the negotiations have you?

If he moves, it's proven that he's after money instead of Europe.. If Europe was his first aim, he would remain at the 1st tier European club... Not a 2nd tier club.

He's on 65k a week in France. Which after tax is around 17k a week. We can offer more than that, and will do for our record signing, that's just common sense.

There are no first, second, third aims. It's the package swansea can offer him. Better team, European football, plenty of money, better quality teammates, club with no debt and a healthy financial position which provides security and no nutter behind the scenes who can literally decide to do anything to the club at any time.

17k a week? Doesnt he get taxed in Britain then?

As for the latter paragraph do you really think footballers care about the balance sheet

Loic Remy could have signed for Newcastle who offered all what Swansea could offer Gomis, but choose QPR.

Why? More money and better place to live.

the 17k he is on is in France. We pay our top earners 35k a week with generous bonuses. As a 8m signing, he is almost certain to top that.

As for the latter paragraph do you really think footballers care about the balance sheet

absolutely do. I'd much prefer go to a club that is on a secure financial footing rather than one that would fold if it were not down to one man who seems as mad as a box of frogs.

Loic Remy could have signed for Newcastle who offered all what Swansea could offer Gomis, but choose QPR.

good for him

Why? More money and better place to live.

you don't have to live where you play  if money was a major factor in where he wanted to go then he's not the sort of player we want. However it sounds like he, like canas, will turn down the chance to earn more money to be able to play for the better club.

Why does it sound like that? Because a bookmaker writing an atricle thought so?

With 50% tax in England Swansea are going to have to go to 50k a week to land this guy. Cant see it myself they only pay Michu 30k a week after the season he had.

And who cares which owner you would prefer to play under? Whats that got to do with the price of bacon? You're not a footballer.

Take the black and white blinkers off. The city of Cardiff is one of the most progressive cities in Europe and will have a football club to match soon. It's obvious that you're ahead of us on the pitch by some distance at the moment and you might break your wage structure to land Gomis to appease the unhappy Laudrup, but if you think Cardiff City FC won't be able to compete with you in the near future then you're in for a massive shock. When Malky sold the club to all his targets last season when he captured 99% of them, I doubt they thought too long and hard about the debt of the club(which is mostly owed to the chief benefactor who has already spent multi millions and is about to splash out a lot more on completing the infrastructure of not only the stadium(you've read the plans), but the new training complex which will guarantee us elite academy status within a short time. We flew the recent audit compared to a failed Swansea City FC attempt, who for all the extra millions in the back won't come close to us at academy and development level for years to come. Our"debt"for want of a better word will be added to the value of an established premier league outfit in Cardiff with its own 40,000 stadium, with the largest fanbase in Wales by a county(sic)mile ,an elite academy which will be the envy of Wales and the West and possibly a cup win and a European spot to get our profile even higher. Like I've said, I don't live in Swansea, never have. I've never lived in Cardiff. It makes absolutely no difference to me which city is better to live, i don't support the city, I support the football club. I have no loyalty to the surrounding areas what so ever.

I have been to both cities however, there are lovely parts in both cities, there are vile parts in both cities. I wouldn't chose to live in either, and of course am living proof of that as I don't

The rest of your post seems a bit of over egging the cake a little mr gent. Academies produce players, they don't attract them and even then it's not guaranteed you will get one. Swansea have produced Ben Davies and Joe Allen in the last few years while Cardiffs production line seems to have come to a grinding halt.

We also have a new training complex with another on the way and a stadium which has plans to expand to 32,000. The point being we are a long way to becoming established and have never been in a relegation fight. You are yet to kick a ball in the Premier league and are one of the favourites for the drop. A 40,000 stadium means naff all if you aren't in the premier league as you didnt average anywhere near close to a sell out attendance last year, what was it 23,000 ish? Can you imagine playing in the championship with a half empty ground? Vile.

You have to run before you can walk as they say and at the moment you haven't even tied your shoelaces.

I'm just safe in the knowledge that my club is in an extremely healthy state and will keep progressing the same as you. For all the heartbreak to many of the rebrand, behind all that we've never been so professional. The potential is vast
