I like to treat my Dad & Grandad to matches as well as going to games with friends who studied here and support City when they are in town. The membership scheme means I can't really afford to do so anymore!

I think it actually punishes real fans rather than rewards them. The Utd supporters looking to go to games will see the £40 as a regrettable but worthwhile expense to see their team as it's only once a year.

For people like myself who like to go to multiple matches with family and friends, it's an expense too far. Looks like I'll be going on my own next year!

Bought one for my son who lives in Scotland, & can only make a few games a season. You get £50 back in club shop vouchers on the gold card membership, so that's Xmas done as well! ;)

Surely its not as simple as getting 50 quid free spend but more like a coupon if you spend a certain amount

Not sure about the conditions in the store tbh, & i know its on a first come, first serve basis for tickets, but its the only chance i've got of getting him a match day ticket, for any of our home games.

Ideal for myself as I watched around 10 games last season as I can't commit to every game. This allows me with a 1/3 shot of getting a ticket. It will also almost guarantee me a ticket for some matches as I bet a lot who buy the membership are in the same boat as me. It's also good as you won't get those supporting the other team in the ground. Only people I feel sorry for are those with families as it gets very expensive them. It also means I can't bring the Mrs, which is a good thing.

I live in Scotland and i've just bought one. Will only fly down for a few games but i'll be going to away games as well!

I've been buying my lad an away membership last 2 years but £40(or £30) is far too much to be charging for a 7 year old to get to 2 or 3 games.

What a piss take, I can't understand why people think it's a good idea, it'll end in tears.

Like I said earlier, Its a disgrace. £40 and not guaranteed a ticket. In reality you will have to ring up a month before your chosen fixture and compete with everyone ringing the ticket office and trust me for the big games you will be waiting on the phone for ages and what will you get at the end of it, a ticket if you are lucky and even then most probably a crappy seat which you have paid through the nose for. For me its the final insult so its internet links for me and match of the day. :ayatollah:
