I agree with your comments Gavin.

Corky posts a good news thread and talks about Cardiff City Football Club and Harold rips his positive input to shreads instantly.

As far as I'm concerned Corky this is making the best of a bad job.

In fairness to Magners, this was an attempt at a GOOD news thread from Corky that could celebrate the better news about the coming season and it got tainted.

As if there's not enough negative threads already that could be posted on. Pinta was celebrating all things red a few weeks ago, I am aware that he was obviously in sarcastic mode but it is hard to uphold other posters opinions when they change them week on week just for affect.

Like you said I was having a laugh. There seem to be a handful of "pro reds", for want of a better word, on here. I just wanted to find out what was going to happen if we just go along with this rebrand. The more we just shrug our shoulders and accept it, the less chance there will be of one day returning to blue and that is an undeniable fact.

If that is the case and there are fans that will happily go along with that for the lure of "the prem", then they have to face up to what the long term implications are. We cannot keep on singing blue songs etc if we are going to be red for good.

So I asked for the red lot to give us some songs, I don't recall getting any. I guess some of our fans are happy to bury their heads in the sand as long as tan continues to loan us money.

Another non rebrand thread derailed.

Re: ' Good News thread '

Sat Jun 15, 2013 6:04 am

Well said Corky. I am going to ignore the other crap.

For many of us it has taken some 30-40 years to reach this point. Realistically I never thought I would see us in the Premiership especially when we in the dungeon playing the likes of Maidstone and Aldershot.

Even a few years ago, when I started photographing Premiership, I did not really believe that my club would be playing in the Elite League.

In my opinion Tan Sri has turned this club around and turned it for the better. He has held it by the scruff of the neck shaken it got rid of the problems and delivered.

His job is not complete yet, as there are other tasks to complete, but there is no reason to believe that he won't deliver.

Many people on here will know that I was Pro-Sam when he was at the club. I still occasionally speak with him and I am sure that he would be pleased with the vast majority of what is happening at the club at the moment.

This is a great time to be a CCFC supporter. I genuinely believe we will buy a squad to keep us in the Premiership long term and ultimately challenge for top 10. Perhaps not next season but in seasons to come.

Over the years we have lost many things. Standing at Ninian. Ninian Park itself. The Bluebirds Social Club. Indeed many of us have also lost family members who used to accompany ys at matches. We have seen countless players leave us to go and sample what the Elite League offers whilst we remain in the lower leagues. NOW IT IS OUR TURN. After all the years of hurt I am not going to let ANYTHING spoil this season. After what many of us have had to put up with we are now proudly an Elite Club

Yes well said Corky, I loved the old days, every stage from 70's through, it's been good fun. I have also loved the last ten years with all the ups and downs, and no matter what happens I am going to enjoy the future decades too, it's going to be different but I am going to enjoy it :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Magners, the only prick is you.

Like Chuckles said, using personal abuse cos you don't share the same opinion = pathetic

Pinta didn't make it a rebrand thread or get personal.

He simply stated a fact, and whilst I hope along with everyone else that what Corky said comes true fact is not one
part of it has yet. All just promises at the moment.

Being linked with quality players is one thing, signing them is another, we can debate that like adults in a good thread on a messageboard like I know Corky would have but not you want to start calling people pricks.

Its people like you that drive good posters away, not the other way round

Re: ' Good News thread '

Great to have some positive comments on here for a change,so well said Corky.
I'm loving life as a Cardiff fan at the moment and certainly no negative comments are going to dampen my spirits!

Re: ' Good News thread '

Harold the fact is mate that the most vocal anti-tan people seem to have nothing better to do than sit on this message board all day and talk about rebrands all day.
I know you are trying to be clever and if I'm not mistaken you used to be an ardent poster on ccmb which begs the question, why did you switch message boards when all that board wants to talk about is rebrands.
This board was 100 times better with varied conversations and good football posts now I'm seriously thinking about asking for my ip address to be banned.

Corky, I'm not having a dig or anything, it is a message board and we've all got our opinions. At present I feel very cynical towards the club as I feel that the owner has shown such disrespect for our fans and our identity, yet he seems to demand respect from us!!!! I know things are going well on the pitch, but I find it very difficult to enjoy it given the big black (or should I say red) cloud that hangs over the club.

The only thing I feel positive about at the moment is the Bluebirds Unite movement.

Corky asked for this not to turn into a re-brand thread, and what do you do??? the likes of you will always find negatives with the club no matter what. Apart from the obvious, Cardiff City are making massive strides on all fronts, new signings are just about through the door, the Langston deal is all but signed, (probably is by now) and the new training ground is about to be signed off, as corky said, fantastic times for the club and long may they continue.

"Apart from the re brand"

Re: ' Good News thread '

Blue,real,really....it is football club with thousands of fans and loads going on I deliberately said apart from the rebrand because that is a single issue, albeit a negative one, in a sea of positivity.

Its a single issue that is over riding all others. No getting away from that.

Corky, From people with an agenda there has a lot of what nuero-linguistic-programmers would call " minimalization" with regard the rebrand. Accentuate the positives minimize the negatives. Ofcourse there are positives but call the rebrand for what most of us recognise it as (even reluctant reds) ....................................'Utter wank' that is in our faces every time we watch our club therefore can not ever be fully put 'aside'. It would've been more apt if you just said it was rubbish then moved on to the positives.

Re: ' Good News thread '

Sat Jun 15, 2013 11:07 am

Ian...,I don't see it over riding all others to be honest...it is a very important issue and a devisive one that has caused hurt to many of our fans but it cannot over ride the facts

We did not go into administration
We did not go into liquidation
We did pay the taxes
We did pay the players
We did pay many creditors
We did sign some quality players
We improved the academy set up
We got promoted after fifty odd years
We sold record season tickets for two seasons running
We are increasing capacity at stadium
We are extending the stadium in the near future
We are about to start a state of the art training facility that will eventually get us elite academy status along with the two house of sports
We have had less banning orders and arrests last season than we have had for many years
We are sure to sign at least six new first team players before September for millions
Historical debt is apparently near to a resolution but I have no evidence of this

They are just some of the other issues that are can not simple be over ridden by one issue

Real blue reality

You mention people with agendas possibly there are some but what are their motives? I would suggest there is still a fear that the mysterious Vincent Tan,who really has all the power, could still f**k us up.....it makes little sense to me why he would do hat now but it's still a fear when one man has total control....that is a huge issue that really does over ride all others but its the same at Chelsea and other clubs we are not unique .

My view is he will keep building the club and turn it into a saleable asset that he can offload at a profit whilst in the meanwhile use it to promote his huge business interests both here in the UK but more importantly raising his profile in Asia...but that is just my opinion and I respect other opinions too....we are all different mate.
