We had some terrible attendances playing in Blue for a sustained perid of time as well. Not sure if you were around in the 80s and early 90s but we played in Blue and we were absolute pants.
What gets people in through the turnstiles is a side that entertains and wins games. so when Eddie May got us going in the lower leagues we were getting huge (by comparison) attendances in those divisions.
Shirt colour is emotive, but ireelevant to that argument. Personally I feel there could be nothing more effective than a sea of Blue in front of Tan at every game.
