As harsh as it sounds, its life. Business plans change, forecasts change, especially in this climate. Hopefully the union can fight for a better package than statuary redundancy pay and career wales can help with CV'S, job applications or adult learning.

Redundancy is a bad time, it feels like the end of the world.....but there is help out there.

Surely its a good thing that the assembly has bought the airport.maybe they can bring it back to life and if you care about the area why do you want the airport to move to severnside?

Surely its a much better investment for the area if they invested in a brand new bigger airport than flog two shitty airports like Bristol and Cardiff for the next few decades surely!!!

I live down near Caldicot,in Langstone and there is nowhere to put a new international airport. Llanwern was only place ever earmarked but thats being slowly turned into houses. Only land is Caldicot school fields and Id rather keep that for kids to play on rather than build an airport in the middle of a village.

surely its cheaper to upgrade the existing airport

do you realise just how much a proper international airport like the one earmarked for Sevenside can make for the local area jobs ? Cardiff and Bristol airports are not located in the right place for the modern world.

if people cant see the financial benefits which a project like Sevenside can bring to the area then may I suggest you attend a business course or something

what part of 'the runway at Bristol isn't big enough got larger planes' don't you understand. Bristol is just as difficult to get to for Bristolians as Cardiff is for Cardiffians. Being right on the M4 will make it easier not only for passenger flights but Cargo traffic had the potential.

Do you know the road network in that part of the world..? It will be far easier for everyone in that neck of the woods to the the M5, M4 rather than shitty country roads. Sevenside is the future

Why should we when there wasn't a need for it..? I wonder how many factories offer their employees free transport to and from work..? Not many thats for sure. Does your employer provie you with free transport..?

fully agree with you there Nanny hense why some didn't even know about the bus.

I know of several companies who supply transport for thier employees

Going back to original thread title, bus times are not great are they ? First bus leaving central is 8:05 a.m. get's to the airport at 8:44 a.m. and last one arrives at 6:41 p.m. . Most flights you need to be there 2 hours before, brilliant if your flight is between 11:00a.m. and 4:30 p.m. !

Many of flights leave early and late going to popular tourist destinations. Is more investment needed for the buses ? or do people simply not use the service ?

To be honest a Severn side Airport would be good but for it to work properly i feel the Tolls on the Bridge should be dropped. So which ever side the Airport was it would be good for both sides.
