Should be. There may be a change in how tickets are allocated, but I can't imagine it costing ST holders anything extra.

I was thinking point systems that clubs use but I'm not sure
Mon Jun 10, 2013 12:16 pm
I think that is the most obvious solution, but the club may come up with something else.
Either way, it shouldn't cost anything for ST holders.

I've been an away member for the past 10 years and had a season ticket up till the last two seasons (been living in Plymouth studying at University). Bit of a bummer that if this is true then I won't be able to go to any home games next year. Make the most of pre-season and the away games then
Mon Jun 10, 2013 12:28 pm
I'll probably get away membership tbh if they're still doing it.

I don't understand why the introduction of a membership scheme would mean you won't be able to go to any home games next season? There's nothing stopping you becoming a member for the rumoured £40 to put yourself ahead of the Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea fans in the queue to watch the big games. You almost certainly will be able to get tickets for the less desirable games where there won't be a rush for tickets.
The proposed scheme would ensure that, come the big games, the tickets go to the right people I.e true City fans.
I can't see anything wrong with it, bar the perhaps inflated price.
If the club didn't put anything in place then all we would hear are complaints that the loyal fans who went to Rochdale on a Tuesday night in January back in the day can't get tickets for the big games because South Wales plastics are buying up all the tickets.

Get my tickets for home games for free next year as I did towards the end of last season. For away games ill get tickets easy enough don't worry. I'll still need membership to show stewards though.

It's just a fact 3k away tickets at most over 20k season tickets.

This is what Chelsea do with there membership ! Quite good really
HELP YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT TIER FOR YOU
- True Blue Ticket Only (£25 one season / £48 two seasons) - if it is just priority access to match tickets for every Chelsea game you want, this is the tier of membership for you. Members pay £5 less than non-members for match tickets so you only need watch Chelsea five times and you will recoup your membership fee!
- True Blue Magazine (£35) - as well as those vital tickets, if you want the famous Chelsea magazine delivered to your door each month during the season, this is the option for you. With the magazine retailing at £3.25 this tier offers unbelievable value.
- True Blue Original (£45) - if you want the full works, including the new, specially designed membership collectors box including the 2013/14 Chelsea Yearbook, an exclusive DVD from our 2013 Asia tour plus a Chelsea members calendar, as well as the magazine and ticket access, go for this tier.

TRUE BLUE MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
True Blue is the only way to guarantee tickets!
'Sold Out' is a common sight at Stamford Bridge. during the 2012/13 season just a handful of tickets went on general sale. But as a True Blue not only do you pay £5 less than non-members for match tickets, you have a priority booking period for every home and away game. We will alert you every time the priority booking period begins so you can make maximum use of that extra buying time.
With more and more members joining each year (last season was a record membership level) and only 8000 tickets available for purchase each home game, it is less and less likely you will be able to secure tickets without membership next season. Members are allocated 40% of away ticket allocation and priority access for every home game.
Loyalty will secure your place at the big games!
Our members' loyalty point system means that even much-sought-after tickets, such as domestic cup finals and European cup semi-finals and finals, will be available to those members with the most loyalty points over the course of the season.
Plus your Team Card will let you build up bonus points towards discounts on purchases in the Megastore and with selected CFC partners. You will need this membership Team Card to buy match tickets.
Competitions / Prize Draws
During the 2013/14 season there will continue to be a monthly members-only prize draw, with a host of amazing Chelsea products and experiences to be won. It makes sense to get closer to Chelsea.

For a start:

- Reading
I'm sure there's more. No point investing £10m in stadia upgrades when it will be under-utilised the following season. Lets become part of the furniture first before making any significant investments that could come back and bite us on the arse.

Yeah f**k them for looking after loyal supporters, making sure they get first call on tickets. Who the f**k do they think they are?

This has been needed for years for fans who can only pay cash but are regulars everygame .
If you buy a membership and you get £2 off a match ticket everygame , over a season it will not cost you a penny and you will have your money back plus the tickets go to the more dedicated fans not fans of other teams , its a great idea imo

First season in PL would always get a boom. Not hard. The ground should have been extended this summer. Next season attendances will drop off slightly imo for the lesser smaller club games.
Mon Jun 10, 2013 3:40 pm
Not sure what to make of it. Seems a bit expensive but good way of stopping the glory hunters.
I'm trying to think how is feel if I didn't have a ST. Be annoyed at the £40 however will give you a better chance of getting tickets.
Mon Jun 10, 2013 4:02 pm
At the end of the day if they announce and put them on sale now then it can't be a big deal as it is 2 months away from the season.
Also I am not worried about away games, I have done 11 away but used a membership different to mine so 9.

Just another way to screw some more money out of the loyal fans , A Bradford fan on here a few weeks ago mentioned they had a scheme where you paid £50 to become a member and you could buy subsidized tkt a tenner, now that's looking after loyal fans.

Its just for money, they cud go thru records and find whos held stadium cards or bought tickets last few seasons or ever had a season ticket, all of which apply to me. That forty notes is one less match i can afford now, and pls dont tell me its another forty for my young lad... Not best pleased really tbh
Mon Jun 10, 2013 5:14 pm
Can see the clubs thinking but reality is £40 is extra money a lot of people won't have and will think "f**k paying that I won't bother now then" and it will affect attendances and sell out crowds, bad move from the club if true imo

the more games you attend the better chance you have of a ticket I believe
Excellent sounds good

bspark wrote:I am assuming season ticket holders could buy extra tickets without paying an extra membership fee? My dad will want to go to a few games but won't want to pay a £40 membership fee. I'm assuming I can just buy tickets for him if I have a season ticket.
I doubt it, I am a season to Kerr holder but I would expect preferential treatment on tickets ???
Mon Jun 10, 2013 5:41 pm
To really only punish the plastics they really should offer £5 off a match day ticket for members. So if a ticket is £40 a Liverpool fan pays £75 for the one game they want to go to but someone who goes to 8 games pays an average £40 per game.
The cynical part of me accepts that they will just set the match day price £5 higher than planned so they still get the money they want after the £5 discount is taken off.
I'll repeat the fact that with £60m in TV money they really should be able to offer really cheap ticket prices, any other strategy is pure greed.
Mon Jun 10, 2013 6:59 pm
All this talk of plastics does my head in, I bet a third of the fans that go down now support your Liverpools , Man u ect. first, they just happen to live in S .Wales and can't get to see them, I know plenty. So please stop going on about them as I find it irksome.
Mon Jun 10, 2013 7:37 pm
All the peasants who can't afford the £40 just go down the Liberty. Plenty of scroungers down there to help you fit in.
