He hardly stood out in the championship, so how can one say that he is definitely good enough for the premiership? There have been many strikers who have stood out in the second tier & not made it in the Premiership. Many of whom have done much more than Rudy has in the second tier.

I dont think he is definitely good but I do believe he is worthy of a chance to prove himself.

On the evidence that I've seen so far, he's not good enough for the premiership.

For the type of striker he is, it is. Adebayor, Zamora, need I go on. All getting on now. Its a technical position and mental game needs to be great. It comes with experience. Experience I'll admit Rudy does not yet possess to a great degree.

If we are relying on Rudy Gestede next season to score the goals to keep us up, we will go down. If he features regularly, it will show that we haven't strengthened sufficiently for the top division.

We wont be relying on him though and you know that so its a null argument. We will buy a striker FFS and you know it.

In all fairness chuckles is right however you look at it, hes not good enough for the premier league, yes he had a few good games and got the odd vital goal. I for one really like him but in reallity like chuckles said he isnt good enough . Thats an opinion ... which everyones entitled to

Rather than pointlessly speculating about what we think Rudy will be like, can we get behind and support OUR one of only two international strikers? He's clearly good enough for Malky if he was given that many chances last season. Whether he'll be good or not remains to be seen, but I'm gonna concentrate on facts rather than opinion.

I'd agree with that. I think Kev is a useful squad member, but not somebody I'd like to rely on as such for a long stretch.

Etien didn't really have a fair chance. Very good player from what I saw of him pre-season and in development matches. Never given a chance really. Was there a reason? Who knows.

He hasn't "continually" picked Rudy though, has he? I brought up Malky taking Rudy off at half time once, because he was so poor .. You came up with some excuse at the time, but now use that same reason as it suits your agenda.

For me, Rudy has had several chances to impress.. Yet has failed pretty much every time. Etien was never afforded all those chances. So how can it be fair to judge both alongside each other?

The simple fact is yes Rudy has improved over the past year but he is still miles off being Premier League quality. He does provide an aerial threat and can be a nuisance but he incapable of playing with the ball at his feet, he is a poor dribbler and the majority of his headers fly all over the place as if his head was shaped like a 50p coin. He will probably stay and will be a decent impact sub if we need to unsettle the opposition defense but if he is anywhere near or even starts 1 game next season it means we havent strengthened enough in my opinion.
