I chuckled when I saw it as its all turning into a farce now.... Vt ain't got a clue unfortunately: (
What worries me most is asking them to change the shorts is they will come out with a statement claiming how they listened and compromised with fans by altering the shorts.....its almost like a well made f**k up to show they have compromised albeit all on there terms-- NO Blue lol

The Puma kit designer must've got ours mixed up with the Grimthorpe Red Lion reserves.
That's a good point (sort of) are Dragons two toned red?

carlccfc wrote:Cardiff City are facing a backlash over their new all-red kit for their Barclay’s Premier League debut season.
The two-tone strip, with shorts a darker shade than the shirt, sparked strong reaction from supporters.
But describing the kit – made by manufacturer Puma – the club described the new look as “unique, classic and stylish.”
In its statement accompanying the launch, the club said the new kit would make it “stand out” in the Premier League.
It said: “The club decided to maximise on the Puma King design and adopt a two-tone red home kit this season, helping us stand out in the Premier League crowd.
“The two Puma King stripes reflect the fans loyalty to the club, which is appreciated by all. We hope you all enjoy the results and look forward to seeing you all wearing your new shirt – with quite a few optional sleeve badges we think – as the season gets under way.”
But Carl Curtis, who runs a supporters’ website, described the strip as “hideous” and said: “The only redeeming feature is the Premier League badge on the arm.
“Now that does look classy.”
However, Mansell Lewis, from Maesteg, a former RAF serviceman preparing for a 75th season as a Bluebirds fan, said: “I’ll be cheering Malky Mackay’s team on again next season – and I’ll be wearing the red kit.”
Cardiff wore black shorts last season, but have now switched to an all-red kit.
The badge remains unchanged with a small bluebird below a dragon.
But the fact that the shorts are a darker shade to the shirt brought an angry reaction on social mediate sites.
Mike Morris, from the cardiffcity-mad.co.uk website, said there had been “alarm and shock” among fans on the message board.
“The kit is so different, so weird,” said Morris.
“There were a couple who said they weren’t worried about the colours because Cardiff City are in the Premier League, but the reaction of most was alarm and shock.
“The club tweeted that having two shades of red was a conscious decision.
“Most people expected red, of course, but we want Cardiff’s kit to look classy. I would have preferred white shorts.
“The kit looks odd. Why two different shades?”
Bluebirds fan Lee Beames said the fans would prefer Cardiff played in traditional blue, but he said he isn’t going to get too upset about colours.
“What does it matter?” said Beames.
“We have reached a stage where I am not going to get upset about a slightly different shade of red.
“I’ll be supporting Cardiff City as hard as ever next season in their new kit.
“I will never waver in my support unless the club name was changed from Cardiff – and I don’t believe that would ever happen.
“I assume the away kit will again be blue and that will be fine with me.”
But Tim Hartley, chairman of the Cardiff City Supporters Trust, said: “On a personal level I’m not sure the two-tone red shirt and shorts really works. I find it rather distracting.
“As a Trust, the majority of our members want a return to a blue kit at some stage.
“We would urge the club to consider a blue away kit for our first season at Premier League level.”
Long-time fan Paul Corkrey feels the club should have offered fans a choice of red kits before making a final decision.
“There should have been a choice for fans,” he said.
“Many are still opposed to the rebranding from blue to red and now this new kit for 2013-14 has been imposed.
“It looks like a kit which has been photo-shopped by a child.
“It looks a cheap kit with a beer mat as a badge. After then furore over the rebrand this should have been handled better.
“I wish there had been more consultation and maybe a choice of strips for supporters to look at and comment on before this announcement.”

I'm beginning to think that the colour thing is Tan's "out" card should he decide to play it. By courting this controversy he will always be able to walk away quoting all the "disrespect" that he has been shown.
Of course it works both ways, with equal disrespect shown to our traditions.
Anyone know where I can buy a blue jacket like Tan's red one. Would love to see a photoshop of him wearing a blue one![]()
Seriously though, you couldn't make this up.

Are you serious? Sorry Malky, I respect you as a manager etc and the deal is good for me and my family but the colour of the shirt doesn't quite match my hair and eye colouring.

Everyone seems to be suggesting that the kit looks awful, the worst kit ever but at the end of the day it's just the shorts really........and to sum the fact that its red of course. The shirt is as plain as it was ever going to be with the collar design the standard Puma one so that was always going to be there. The socks are also as plain as they could be so it's just the fact that the shorts are a darker red. I don't like the shorts but it's quite amazing really how much reaction this has caused

Apart from it being red, which we knew it would be, the shorts were by far the worst part of the kit, followed by the neck line which was designed to stand out with the V neck over the round neck but the fact they are both the same colour looks poor. then the two stripes on the shorts are pretty lame but that is Puma's design and not the club's.
Something worth pointing out, in case others had not noticed, but there is a side panel on the shirt which is the darker red which the shorts colour matched and the same darker red is on the V neck piping.
