Utter bollocks!! (With respect, as I usually agree with your posts)

Why on Earth would people 'fight' each other on the terraces over the so-called rebrand?

There is enough 'debate' on THIS site (and others) without comments like this and you are IMHO well out of order for even suggesting it might occur

Why would it?

Firstly, the majority of people have (no matter how reluctantly) accepted the Red for now at least, and (b) there isn't enough room to swing a cat between seats in the CCS never mind to swing a punch!

People are free to choose whichever stance they feel comfortable with and whilst we will never agree with opposing views to our own we have to respect them. That is tough on times (for both sides) but mass violence is hardly an option at a time when everything else is going so well

Hopefully, this 'post' will be removed by a moderator before it gives the biggest idiots amongst us ideas  :ayatollah:

What would have happened if a few people turned up at bluebirds unite yesterday wearing red city shirts?

They would have been exceptionally naïve (or deliberately confrontational) but I point out that your post talked of blood on the terraces and that simply won't happen. Well, not before The Jacks arrive, anyway ;) :ayatollah:

They didn't though did they.Doesn't that tell you something.Always amazes me how some people just love getting off by causing strife where there would otherwise be none.

People who pay to go to the CCS are there to support Cardiff correct? So why would people want to pay to go there to argue and if what you're implying fight each other? The people who felt very strongly against the rebrand are the ones who have stayed away(which I respect by the way). Personally I reluctantly accept it for the love of Cardiff City FC.

It happened up at Scotland if you remember, a "disagreement" between blue & red. Don't know the ins & outs of it, but it was well reported.

Me having words with that knob in Scotland had nothing to do with red blue or Billy boo, plenty of reasons to have a grudge against that bully, and it gone back over years, way before any rebrand.

As I said Gwyn, I don't know the in & outs of it. But the general consensus is that the rebrand was one of the reasons for it. Certainly that's what's being said by the other "side" of it. Obviously you will disagree with their views though.

That along with the threats made by some at the KCB meeting & the intimidation/ridicule some have received because of their actions in wanting to see Cardiff in blue, it's not such a ridiculous notion as many are suggesting.

I'm there every game. And as I see it if you pay to come through the gates you're supporting the rebrand in a round about way. Like it or not. So your shit stirring threads are rendered useless. And u can also get fucked with your patronising replies too. I answered your question politely, if you want to get all gobby I can too.

That's patronising where I come from. And like I said if you pay your money and attended the games you're supporting the rebrand. Like it or not it's fact. We all want blue but accepted the change for the good of the club. And it's paid off. Premier league football next season.

But to a lot of people I speak to it hasent taken the shine off. There has been the loss of the home coloured shirt but to most of the people the identity is still there whilst we are still called Cardiff city.
There would have been a massive reaction in my opinion if the name had been tampered with.

If we had not got to the premier or challenged last season people would not be saying as long as the name stays the same.

By the same token bakes the majority of fans were just glad we still had a football team to watch. I don't believe the message boards reflect the true opinion of most of the fans out there and certainly the youngsters seem to prefer a red shirt when you watch them walking to the ground with their dads.

Re: CIVIL WAR ON THE TERRACES

Mon May 27, 2013 5:09 pm

Youngsters always like to wear the same shirt as the players, can't use them as a barometer.

Biggest measure for me is the singing when Tan came out with the trophy "we'll always be blue" ringing around the ground. I must admit to being pleasantly surprised at hearing that.

This is a really irresponsible post imo.

I myself took the wait and see attitude, i'm sure everyone who supports City (old and new) would orefer to kick off the premier league season in Blue, but we went with Tan's rebrand, won the league, and are now looking like we have a decent chance of staying up. I don't believe we'll go down and I believe there will be more money to spend in January to keep us there.
Suggesting that our fans would fight each other on the terraces when we are all supporting the same team is just inviting trouble, and it's unnecessary!

I respect the opinions of the fans who want to keep Cardiff blue, but I also appreciate how much Tan's money has driven us forward, from the nearly boys, to the champions. I'm willing to keep going, renewing my season ticket and supporting our team.

The last straw for everyone would be losing the bluebird, which I personally would join the active protests, because that is our real identity.

Suggesting violence within our own fans is a terrible thing to suggest

Thats all my opinion though.

Of course you use it as a barometer as those kids are the future of the club and if tan stayed for 10 years those kids would probably kick off if a new owner wanted to change the colour of the shirt as it would be the only colour they would have known.

Re: CIVIL WAR ON THE TERRACES

Red or Dead your post is completely irresponsible but to a certain extent true. In modern football there is very little chance of having a direct confrontation with an opposing fan. There will always be, shall we say differences of opinion, where large numbers of people who have had a couple of sherbets gather together and occasionally a small fracas will break out where one or two people will have a slap. Usually lasts about 20 seconds then is forgotten but to suggest that everybody who wears a red shirt will fight with everybody who wears a blue shirt in the stadium is frankly sad. Civil War on the Terraces; you are either a Jack or are a very sad individual who leads a rather boring life and couldn't think of anything else to write.
