Of course Tan would leave. He said, if you are rude to me I leave.

Tans vision is what you would be offending. His vision is based on his beliefs so you would therefore be offending and going against his beliefs. Tan would see that as you being rude to him and not accepting his vision and beliefs and he'd walk.

Or

In blue in league 2 with a team of has been and never will be, a second rate manager and any half decent player queuing up to jump ship.

I'll take the red.

That isn't the question though, how do you know we would be in League Two if we didn't change to red? You don't, that's just a massive assumption.

The fact that you would choose Premier League football and embarrassment over identity and dignity says it all.

Your right, we could have been wound up!

a gamble worth taking???

Unfortunately, there are one or two that would, mate (not specifically JonCCFC, as I appreciate his stance even if I don't particulrly agree with it) and they appear to have convinced themselves that Red is the route of all evil

As you rightly state, the alternative was almost certainly a 'winding up order' but the simple fact that it was avoided have given the few an opportunity to deny it woud have happened

That is for them to work out but (like the majority on here, I believe) I know how close we came to 'doing a Pompey' and what a contrast there is between the pre and post Tan eras ;) :ayatollah:

Well,we wouldn't be in the prem in blue and as for embarrassment and dignity speak for yourself only. Its all in the mind-your mind.

How do you know? And speak for myself? The football world has been laughing at us for nearly a year, open your eyes.

He says that now but once you offend someone they generally turn into bastards for the sake of it. Had Tan been offended he would have done what was in his best interests and no one else. Why the heck would he care for us if we've just offended him and his beliefs?

For us to work out.

Right lets look at it. Tan has invested around £40m into an organisation that is knocking on a door of a £100m treasure. He is going to walk away is he?

I believe he's saying that now as he believes he has a good relationship with the fans.

If it actually happened I think he would do what was in his own interests and not the clubs. His relationship at that point would be sour because we'd have offended him.

People's views change Chuckles and Tan is no different. If we abuse his beliefs then he will change his opinion of us and hit back where it will hurt us most. He is a businessman first and foremost, let us not forget that.

Tan actually said he "would leave us in good hands" in February.

The rebrand was last May, so no such claim was made by him at the time we are talking about :thumbright:

Its not squirming. Its a valid question, you call him a liar but then are willing to believe his word that he would leave the club in good hands, so which is it?

It's irrelevant as the time we are talking about, you remember, the time when the rebrand happened last May, Vincent Tan had not said he would "leave us in good hands" he simply said "look for new investors" :thumbright:

You do realise we are discussing the point in time the rebrand happened, or don't you understand? :?

Where have I said I believe him? I'm just stating a fact. I've asked Craig 3 times now & he still cannot answer.

I don't trust Tan, no. I'm just stating that he said he would leave us in good hands.. Craig doesn't believe he is a liar, so why does he not seem to believe this particular statement?

No I think his opinion of us will change if we offend him. That doesn't mean hes lying now. I do think however he is capable of going back against his word yes and I will admit that and a lot of the top businessmen are like that to force through what they want. These people usually get what they want and shit on whoever to do it and its why they're at the top as they have no pity.

No the point is whenever someone says there was a high possibility that we would have been wound up, You, JonCCFC and many others constantly bring up that he said "I'll leave you in good hands", but then continue to call him a liar. If you know a man is a liar your not going to believe a thing he says.

unlucky Chuckles, made yourself look silly.....again :)

You're question is invalid as the information was not known at the time.

Had Tan said in MAY 2012 about leaving us in good hands then the outcome may well have been very different.

Very true but its the same old quote that gets brought up to dispute the fact we could have gotten wound up. They can't make their mind up whether they believe him or not

Of course its the point, you started this argument by saying that us being wound up wouldnt happen as Tan has said he would leave in good hands. You say you dont trust him therefore your willing to gamble the clubs future for the sake of keeping the colour blue.

Craig quoted Tan saying that he may leave & uses that as a reason as to why we must accept the red...

When I challenged Craig with Tan's statement that he would "leave us in good hands", he wasn't so happy to accept this...

It's nothing to do with my thoughts on Tan... It's the fact that Craig is willing to believe him on one hand, but not on another.. Just to suit his point. :laughing6:

Edit: And Craig is right in saying at the time of the rebrand happening we had not secruity of our future if Tan left
