Watch out remember this.......
It’s fair to say that after leaving Charlton Athletic neither Alan Curbishley or the South London club have enjoyed much success, with the Addicks enduring a massive fall into the third tier of English football.
In 15 years at the club Curbishley made Charlton into a respected and established mid-table Premier League side. In just one year after his departure all of that hard work was undone when the club were relegated to the Championship. Two years later that hard work became even more difficult to re-build after the team suffered another relegation to League 1. To think that a few years ago the club were attracting players like Paolo Di Canio and Danny Murphy, they now find themselves signing players like Gary Doherty and Alan McCormack.
When Curbishley decided to leave in 2006
fans were already growing tired with the brand of football being played at the Valley and mediocre mid-table finishes, the fans wanted to see some more excitement and somebody to take the club forward. Whilst the fans were very appreciative to Curbishley for all he had done in his time at the club everybody, probably including Curbishley himself believed that he had taken Charlton as far as he can.
Ironically the season the club went down the side were going to make a real push for Europe, with chairman Richard Murray agreeing to give Curbishley’s successor Iain Dowie the next seasons’ transfer money to make it happen. The club already made a terrible decision in choosing Iain Dowie as the next manager and things were made worse when he decided to waste the money on players who were not good enough. Charlton went on a poor run of form and this coupled with Dowie’s bizarre management, such at getting the team lost on a run the morning of their game away to Newcastle saw him last just 15 games before he was sacked.

What..? He's ten times better than that c**t we got in charge!!!!
International level no. Wales have got better over time under Coleman, Coleman's mistake vs Croatia was going defensive too early, that's it. We looked great against Scotland, looking quite a team at the moment. Just waiting for a real fully fit side with all the players available. France 2016 is insight in my eyes. Keep Coleman
Tell me you are joking!!!! Wales BETTER under Coleman!!! Forgot the 6-1 against Serbia have you!!!!

Pulis would be a great manager for Cardiff. We haven't kicked a ball in the premiership yet and we are dismissing managers who have kept teams up for 8 years or so. Malky's not going to leave but if he does we could do a lot worse than Pulis. Proven premier league quality, cup final to boot.
I'd love to have the Mourinhos, rafas, Hiddinks and Klopps of this world but its not happening, yet.

Losing narrowly to top ten side Croatia, being in the top 50 in the world?

Playing Tony Pulis style of football at international level woukd see Wales go backwards quicker than you can say Bobby Gould.
Couldn't disagree more. Pulis would make Wales hard to beat and get us playing like the old Terry Yorath style Wales, putting together a side who would get into the opponents faces, playing with passion and spirit. Pulis would set us up to spoil it against superior teams to stop them playing and get us playing to our strengths. He would make us well organised and with Gareth Bale at the other end, we would get results. Pulis for Wales is a no brainer for me. We can't play superior football against the better teams, but under Pulis we could definitely pick up a few results against the better teams. That is what he's managed to achieve with Stoke to keep them in the Premiership afterall.

Too often these days people are guessing at how long something has been achieved for. Pulis has kept Stoke up for five years, not eight. Whilst they've achieved some impressive results and defied the odds to a large extent in that time, they've steadily got worse under him which has culminated in him leaving the club (either voluntarily or involuntarily). Let's be honest, the football they play is truly dire (don't take my word for it, take the word of many pundits and football writers who've watched plenty of their games to know what they're talking about), and I would happily bet on Cardiff City fans growing tired of the style of football that Pulis likes to play within five minutes, easily.
And he got them to a cup final, so what? Malky got us to a cup final in his first season when still a second-tier club!

Whoo hoo, let's play in the mould of a League Two side that employs the 'up and at 'em' mentality. Why should we set up trying to 'spoil it' against superior teams when twenty months ago we enjoyed a lot of possession against an England side that was probably in the top 7 of the FIFA rankings? We showed under Speed that we can play excellent football against superior teams, and we showed that we can do the same under Coleman against Croatia the other day, when we dominated them for the best part of an hour. We also showed a lot of promise against Scotland recently, and whilst still only being against Scotland, was a very impressive performance indeed, especially when you consider that we'd have probably folded were we not playing the way we do play. By keeping the ball and playing the way we have been playing for the best part of the last two years, we gave ourselves the chance of remaining in the contest and going on to win the game having been in a losing position. And we did it without Gareth Bale, though again, given the opposition, it was not the most challenging thing in the world. Nevertheless, it was still a good achievement. I accept that to a large extent, we do rely on him for firepower, but so do Spurs, and so would many other teams if they had him. That's just the nature of having him on your side, such is his ability.
We're playing to our strengths right now, and we definitely would not be doing that if Pulis was in charge. Would we really gain much by going down the route of employing the old, outdated and frankly shit mentality of 'getting in the opposition's faces' and letting our hearts rule our heads? I don't think so! Think of it this way, Tony Pulis would most likely want to go down the Danny Collins route, if you know what I mean. We definitely would not be able to defeat higher-ranked teams playing the style of football that Tony Pulis likes playing, yet some seem to believe that we would be able to

We'd have probably lost 15-1 had Pulis been in charge, then

I second this. Pulis experience in a smaller club fighting the Premier League giants, making Stoke a difficult place for any team to come and working the best out of players with limited talent would be invaluable as Wales Manager.
Here's hoping

So Wales have players of 'limited talent', do they? I would be inclined to argue that footballers such as Gareth Bale, Craig Bellamy, Aaron Ramsey, Jonathan Williams, Joe Allen, Ashley Williams, Ben Davies and many others in the Wales squad do not possess 'limited talent'

I would have him for Wales too. How can anyone disagree with that?? He's the only Welsh manager in the Prem and has been there for years?? He's miles better than Coleman. Wales wouldn't play pretty football but I bet you he would get us to closer to qualification than anyone else.
He's been there for five years, which is not as long as people think. And in that time, Stoke have become steadily worse. The football they play is truly abysmal. And I'm not sure he could be labelled as 'miles better' than Coleman, either. Does anyone think that he could get us closer to achieving qualification than anyone else? If Speed was still with us, I think that he would give us a better chance of qualifying than Tony Pulis, but hey, that's just me.

Stoke have parted company with manager Tony Pulis.
The 55-year-old's reign came to and end on Tuesday, with the club confirming in a statement that he had left his post.
His departure marks the end of a near seven-year stay at the Britannia Stadium, with Alex Ferguson's retirement at Manchester United and David Moyes' move from Everton to replace him having elevated Pulis to second on the list of the current longest-serving managers in the Premier League.
"Stoke City and Tony Pulis confirm that they have mutually agreed that Tony will leave the Club with immediate effect," the club confirmed on their website.
The news will not come as a great shock to Stoke fans, with speculation over Pulis' future having been rife for several weeks.
After guiding the club to the Premier League in 2008, Pulis has overseen five seasons in the top flight, an FA Cup final and a run to the round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League in 2012.
However, this season has not been as comfortable at the Britannia Stadium, as Pulis' decisions and tactics have been questioned by the fans and the club's form on the pitch has dipped.
They only won nine games all season, scored the second lowest number of goals in the league and picked up one win in their first 13 matches of 2013.

We should be begging Pulis to come here.

On the decline?? They finished 13th, last season they finished 14th. I the season before that13th, so he's done very well and kept stability in a tough league whilst taking stoke to europe.

They were embroiled in a relegation battle for a while towards the end of the season, and the standard of their football has dropped substantially, and many fans clearly have had enough of the crap they play

its not about where you nearly finished though, its about where you actually finish, and they improved on last year. They actually brought in footballers this year and the type of football changed at times, proper stoke fans dont want him out, hes only been out of the championship for about 4 seasons and hes taken them to a major cup final, europe, brought in an england international with over 40 caps, a keeper widely regarded as wanted by united, potentially the next england keeper, a german international with 19 caps.
Its a bit different from the days of bringing in dominic matteo on his last legs.
I personally think it was time for pulis to go, but for him not stoke, so he can try and push on his career.

I'm disappointed but I understand why I was sacked! Pulis opens up over Stoke exit -
