Mourinho coming back to Chelsea will no doubt be given a very large transfer budget so you can expect to see a marquee striker signing.

It would be detrimental to Lakaku's development to be kicking his heels on the bench behind Ba, Torres & A.N. Other when he could be playing BPL and Europa League football.

He's a great player and I m led to believe we're very interested in a loan deal for him.But like you say there's the small matter of him being a chelsea player. If they do loan him out again though then I realky think we're in the driving seat for his signature.

Along with Jose Canas of Real Betis, Swansea City are very confident that they can also wrap up a deal that takes Romalu Lukaku to the Liberty next season.

I want to see Cardiff winning games. That means being at the level we can do that. If we can do well in the PL then great. If not and we get battered every week then who wouldn't prefer to be at the next level down? I'd rather beat Doncaster than lose to Man U.

All means nothing though if mourinho likes him.As NJ said on another thread Chelsea will be certain to bring in a box office striker so Lukaku might have to wait a year.Read a good article on Lukaku recently and he's devoutly religious and doesn't drink or socialise..God and football is his life so after Danny Graham he'd be more than welcome here.

Premier league teams should not be allowed to sign players on loan. It's a crap ruling. Any team that want lukaku should try and buy him if Chelsea want to sell.

So how is a young 4th choice striker meant to get experience?

I actually agree with you :o

Having the loan ruling in place allows the top 4-6 to buy up all the young talent. If they were not able to loan these players out then they would a) be less inclined to buy them young and b) the players would be less inclined to sign for them.

However, while the loan rule is in place, it would be stupid not to take advantage of it.

All depends on JM. He'd def be going a lot further up the table than Cardiff. JM could easily rid himself of Torres and Ba, only really Ba is of the mould he prefers up front. Keep Lukaku and sign two forwards.

But if he is going on loan hell be the best property going out on loan next season, maybe in Europe.

He might even get to play in a fascinating exciting tie and play against wigan in the Europa league. He be better off going to a team abroad in the Dutch league and playing champions league football to really test his ability instead of playing in that joke cup

You do understand what 4th choice means dont you?
Another example is steven caulker. Went on loan to league yeovil, championship Bristol then us in the pl when he was still a teenager. This season he played for a top club as a 20year old. Surely thats better for the lad the reserve team football?

Or he could play in a much stronger league and still get experience of European football. It seems to me the europa league is treated with far more respect across Europe than it is here.

Re: Romalu Lukaku

Sat May 18, 2013 8:11 am

If he's goes out on loan it'll be to us, he wants regular football for a team in Europe, it'll be beneficial for him to stay in the Premier League and Chelsea won't want him going to a rival like Tottenham or Arsenal. I'm confident we'll get him, I can see Chelsea spending big on Falcao and with Falcao, Ba and Torres, Lukaku won't be happy with the amount of game time planned and want to go out on loan.

I think we may be able to get him and Iago Aspas, who's scored 11 times in La Liga for struggling Celta Vigo, for about £5 million. Possibly Manu of Sevilla as well, scored in and around double figures in his last five seasons for Getafe (including one season under Michael Laudrup) and Sevilla but hasn't really played this season, Spanish international and should be available for around £1-2 million.

Canas will join on July 1st, it's to all effects and purposes a done deal, but not yet official. He'll add some real fight to our midfield, which is what we really do need and he's also very good on the ball. Add to that a centre half and we'll be such a stronger squad next season, with absolutely no fear of relegation and I'd be confident of us getting top half and progressing to the knock out stages of Europe.

To all those saying it's a joke cup, I'm guessing that your win over Real Madrid means absolutely nothing to you as that was in a Joke cup as well.
