The champions league winner already gets a spot so it wouldnt matter

It would be silly, Any teams that get into Europa deserves it. Any team that gets into CL deserve it but why would you have a Europa team in CL? Would be unfair and stupid really.

Well CL teams get placed into the Europa league anyway so it wouldnt make much differnce. Its seen as the secondary title and its the right call to do to get more teams interested in it.

How are they going to implement the winners of the Europa League getting a CL place?

Chelsea and Benfica already qualify via league position. Thats the finalists done.

Basel and Fenerbahce also qualify through their leagues albeit Fenerbahce go into third round qualifier. Semi finalists done.

Would it then go to the quarter finalists who've not qualified via other means? i.e. Rubin Kazan? Newcastle? Spurs? etc.
Would they then play off or would it go to the team that lost to the eventual winners which in this case would be Rubin Kazan as they lost to Chelsea.

I know its not going to be implemented next season but what a mess this is going to be.

More often than not the Europa League winners qualify through another route anyway.
