Whittingham used to be the first one on the team sheet

Another thing which I believe affected Whitts this year was that for the last 3 seasons no other outfield player has played more minutes in League matches. This season only Andrew Taylor put in more minutes in League matches. Out of position, heavily marked by the opposition and simple tiredness all contributed to a drop off in form from Whitts.


I know it's a cliche but what do people say about form and class well Whitts is pure class.

whitts would have played a lot more if maynard had been fit i believe. we played an awful lot of games without a quick striker to latch on to his passes. i think he will feature in the premiership

Whittingham has been used poorly by Malky, in my opinion.

Gunnarsson should be our no-nonsense midfielder with Whitts further forward - like the good ol' days. Instead, it's the other way around.

If he's played in the correct position, he'll tear teams apart. Just as long as Malky doesn't play then behind the back four he can easily do a job.

Left wing for me next season in a 5 man midfield. Get and give passing, threading passes and accurate crossing. If he's not on top of his game every game, and loses concentration, going missing, them for me he's out of the team and transfers out. QPR showed you can't carry such a player unless he's fully on it, tarraat is prime example.

Needs to play further forward, you can understand why Malky plays him in front of the back four because none of our defenders can pass.

Whitts will be key next year.By the way I think his corner kicks are second to none.
