That maybe the case but don't think for one moment that because your mates didn't get anywhere then you won't. Agency work comes in waves throughout the year and right now in the new financial year companies are throwing money at agencies.

The amount of youngsters not turning up on a Monday morning is so bad that its making employers turn to the older workforce because the vast majority of them have bills and families to pay for and the youngsters only have themselves to blame.

The amount of youngsters not turning up on a Monday morning is so bad that its making employers turn to the older workforce because the vast majority of them have bills and families to pay for and the youngsters only have themselves to blame.

I've worked for agencies for the past two years and i can say they are shit, hanging on shoe strings each weeks not knowing if you'll be there the next is a horrible thing to have to go through.

The only time i've been off work is when i was training for the airforce and when my last job suddenly decided they didn't need an agency workforce and sacked 70+ of us in the same day.

Having been im recruitment for 12 years i know a hell of alot regarding youngsters and work. Agencies maybe shit but they are a source of work if you haven't got anything else. Many people especially tradesmen use the agencies to help them out when they have a few days without any work.

Also may i add that more and more companies are getting temp to perm agreements with agencies these days because there is so much rubbish out there and its cheaper for them. I very often have a 13 week temp to perm agreement with a companies so the 13 weeks while on our books is used as a probation period for all parties involved. This agreement can be unknown to the worker during this period.
