I don't think dragons protecting bluebirds is anything to do with his culture. It's just him looking for an excuse for the rebrand. It just highlights his lack of knowledge of football and disrespect for the game, the club, and lets not forget, the fans

To be honest, when I heard VT saying that I did wonder if Sam had said it to him

Imagine he said, we remain red and I change debt to equity (as is supposedly intention) or I will change us back to blue and hold onto my loans until someone else comes in.

Good question, I would like to know other people's comments on this Wayne.

See my response above to Annis on my view.

My first thought was: I'd go for red shirts and no debt every time, but being in the position we are now, surely the club could naturally reduce the debts via increased income??

Hmmm, I'm on the fence, see if anyone else can influence me on a decision on this question.

I would return but would have very little trust in him.

It would take a few seasons keeping the status quo before the trust returned.

I am a definitely in the pro blue camp but its more important to me that he doesn't increase the debt any further. I'd like to see no more loans coming in from him for next three years. This shouldn't be a problem with TV money/parachute payments. The turning point for me would be him sorting Langston, converting some of his loans to equity and not taking any of the TV money out of the club for himself.

I would have massive respect to the WELSH FA if they reverted the captain to someone Welsh. OT I know.

I lost all respect after his u-turn and failure to discuss and negotiate with us.

All will be forgotten if we got our blue back, he will become Iconic in city folklore, but it wont happen.

Sadly

My views would still be the same. He's done a lot for this club and made the club a PL club, his continued investment has kept us afloat.

If he changed us back to blue then I'd love it, to me it's a club over a colour and I don't mind which colour we play in but blue is our colour that we've had for a long time, it seems the Malaysian folk don't care, example being the Malaysian fan club and their badge. It'd be great, all of us as one again.

To me this guy saved my club, without him we wouldn't have a club be it Red Blue Green or purple , I would rather our blue, BUT! I support and love the club that is Cardiff City , so to me I support the club not a fking colour.
As long as my son & his son and so on has a club to support and we still have a Cardiff City F C , in Cardiff that's great.
But lets face a fact here, and that fact is, without his money we wouldn't be in the prem now. We owed so much money out,we would have only been in and out of court trying our best to keep our creditors away.
What also makes me laugh is a lot of the people on here that are so die hard Blue, don't even wear a shirt or scarf !

Your view is the same as probably 95% of the fan base it's just that the minority are louder in this case. As I have said before we have more chance of being sold on if we are an established premier league club with that chance to return to blue. But without tan we wouldn't be debating it on this message board

i could see if he returned you to blue that he,d become a legend.the debt thing defo needs doing too.there is another thing though too.don,t you think he should find spaces for the 100 who returned their tickets last year and the ones who havn,t renewed this season because of the rebrand?im not saying give them s/t,s free just a chance to buy them.after all it was his rebrand that made them return the tickets/not renew

Not what you would feel about the turnaround but about VT himself ?

This is totally hypothetical and extremely unlikely but I wonder what people's perceptions of Vincent Tan would be if he done it.

I have always stated bar the rebrand then VT would be hailed/worshipped among City fans, I just wonder if people would forgive and forget.

Would those fans who walked away hurting, would they return under a return to blue and the club still run by VT?

This is what i said should have happened last season.

For me tan is already up there as the greatest chairmen, one question Annis why are u so obsessed with the colour, I'm assuming its because you've always followed us as blue like myself? It can't be tradition or history cos if it was u'd be wearing riverside colours and not blue?? The club was rebranded before the bluebird only came about as part of another rebrand, therefore as I suggest your belief in blue is purely your feelings and nothing to do with tradition an history and that being the case why is it so hard to accept the change?? I believe it's jut because u don't like change and many are with you in this respect as its human nature not to like change whether it be in your job your life or something u follow ie football, this is not questioning your support for the club as I know 100% city through and through merely trying to gauge why u are so against the change in colour

Changing the colour of our home shirts have no doubt been the biggest mistake VT has made since he became involved with our club but, in my opinion, it is probably the only mistake he has made.

In the last year he has become more involved with the day to day operation of the club and that has helped him understand better how we the fans identify with the colour blue and of course the nickname Bluebirds. He has even state, during his speech at the player of the year bash, that he wants to know how we overcome fans singing about "The Blues". It's simple Vincent it won't change, at least not within a generation, so change the club back to Blue. I believe he will get there, When?,not sure but he will get there.

But is this whole "How your feeling about VT" more to do with will he convert his loans to equity and more basic than that will he settle the Langston debt?

In my opinion settling the Langston debt will be such a clear sign on good faith that his stock amongst Bluebird fans would soar, but only because until it's settled most fans feel it has the potential todrag the club under. Does he have any moral obligation to settle the debt, no, not in my opinion but the fact that he is prepared to do so means that I have the upmost respect for him.

I also have complete respect for the manner in which he has covered and in most cases paid off the debts created by the Ridsdale era. I have waited donkeys years to have a Chairman or owner of our club with pockets deep enough to not just keep us afloat but move us forward, VT has done that in a massive way.

In my opinion his one mistake, our shirt colour, which lets face it has more to do with his cultural beliefs than anything else should not prevent us from respecting what he has achieved since he became involved with the club.
