Nobody plans for anything to go wrong Carl. But it does'nt take a rocket sciencetist to know Ridsdale was bad blood with what had happened to his two previous cluds!!!!! :x

1. I dont think Sam Hammam came here in the first place to 'make a fast buck'... there's no such thing
in football is there?

2. I think its totally fair to say Sam Hammam clicked with Cardiff City supporters big style. Yes, he liked
the adulation, who wouldn't, but people in his position generally dont ring up random fans at the dead
of night just for a chat. He had an affinity with us supporters that was pretty unique i think.

3. He was quite reckless when he was here, paid silly prices for players and made daft promises to fans.
But I honestly believe he believed in the dream that was Cardiff City. He sold the dream so
well to 'the banks' that they were throwing money at him, but just the money paid for Peter Thorne is
testament to where the money was going. I dont think he was using it to line his own pockets to be
fair. Sam walked away from Cardiff City with big debts too. Lets not forget, if 'Langstone' is Sam Hammam,
they in turn got the money from somewhere eh?

4. Sam is obviously desperate to come back to Cardiff City in one form or another. Its also obvious that
he wouldnt be coming back here with an ulterior motive, there is no money here for Sam, there will be
no seat on the board. So Sam Hammam wants to come back because he genuinely loves this club and
misses it, and misses us lot. Well, dyu know what... I miss him too. His daft pitch walks, his bloody
ridiculous 'bigger than Barcelona' statements, his 'like Millwall but ten times worse' speeches. His
random phone calls to people he didnt even know telling them to 'live the dream' His 'burn a man utd
shirt for Cardiff' scheme.  The feller was a loose cannon, a stereotypical Cardiff City fan in
fact!!!

There are things need clearing up regarding Sam and his involvement here. Unanswered questions, and quite
a few of them. But who the f**k is Mike (egg-chasing) Hall to throw mud? why do we believe his version of
events. Until theres a bit more transparency at the club, and until the truth finally rears its ugly head, there
will be no 'return of the Messiah' for Sam. But personally, I'd love the truth to prove Sam really was just a
reckless nutcase rather than a calculating money-grabbing crooked Arab. Without Sam Hammam there would
be no new stadium, no talk of possible premiership football, no FA Cup finals, no full-houses, no dream. I been
watching the City since 1980ish, and back in those dark days top flight football wasn't even a dream, we were
that shit nobody would even consider 'what ifs'... We were too busy finding out which connections would get us
to Carlisle/Halifax/Hartlepool to think about anything else. By hook or by crook, its Sam Hammam has got us
where we are today. From day one he always said he wanted to attract investment into Cardiff City, well its
happening, and irrespective of the rights and wrongs of it all... this is HIS legacy.

None of us really know the truth - but when it does come out my hope is that Sams reputation is restored and
I (for one) can look at the daft old bugger with a whole lot of love again :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Bigger than Barcelona!!! - Before Sam we werent bigger than Brentford!!

I think the fact Ridsdale was head honcho at the previous clubs was the fact that Sam thought he could make use of Ridsdales connections in the game to better Cardiff City but didnt see how PR could use the situation against him.

I agree, Sam Hammam is a right chancer - as is our current Chairman and a few others who have attached themselves to the club in the past ten years.

But the big difference here Bob is that Sam came and took the chance with serious money at a time when those with the clout and knowhow did not, and I thank Sam for doing that :ayatollah:

Would Peter Ridsdale have come into our club 10 yrs ago ?

Has Peter Ridsdale invested any money into the club ?

Both answers would be no.

While bringing in Ridsdale turned out to be a total blunder on the part of Sam Hammam you have to have sympathy with his situation at the time.

Also Ridsdale was working for WH Sports 'consultants' who offerred him advice and access to outside investment (i.e. Keith Harris)

When we look back on Ridsdale's conduct from the moment he arrived in March 2005 you have to wonder whether as a 'consultant' with a spesific job discription from the Chairman (Sam Hammam) he conducted himself professionally and carried out his duties to his client or sought to line his own pockets and stab Sam in the back.

Personally I believe there is a case to answer and Sam should even consider suing Ridsdale personally for any losses he has.

I have thought this for a long time that whilst employed by Sam, Peter Ridsdale sought his own agenda.

Lets not forget the state of Cardiff City when Sam came here. Damn right he was taking a chance.

He was taking a chance with a shit team, in a dilapidated ground with some of the most fickle miserable
b*stard fans in football (and I include myself in that)

Look at us then

Look at us now

I hear rumblings that a lot of the dirty dealings and underhandedness is going to be exposed
over the next few week. Like I say, I can only hope Sam comes out of it ok. If it turns out he
really did try and shaft Cardiff City then I'll be the first one to kick him in his bollocks.

I bet if Sam was invited a guest to our last home hame of the season and introduced to the crowd before the game he would have a standing ovation , which would be more than enough proof what the majority of fans thought of him . Sam was sort of pushed into a corner about the rugby involvement at CCS , basically he fought tooth and nail NOT for rugby but he was told without rugby then we get NO stadium !!!! The state of the pitch proves Sam was right :ayatollah:

The Rugby will I think prove to have been a massive influence on what went on here, pushed sam out.
The egg chasers and the council were determined that the Rugby had a new home as the Arms Park site must
be the most valuable bit of Real Estate in the whole of Wales. Forget the fact that Cardiff City Fc average
crowd is over 10,000 higher than Cardiff Blues. In corporate Wales, rugby is king. Thats what Sam was
up against. A strong Premier league Football team with strong ownership (which we may well end up
with next season) could be the death knell of rugby in Cardiff.

Oh and how i'd titter

I'd love to see him as a president/figurehead for the TG regime.
He really did ignite the revolution and deserves our thanks for that.

Re: SAM HAMMAM MY LORD, SAM HAMMAM

Sat Apr 10, 2010 5:23 pm

I spoke to Sam virtually every day when I was in Majorca, I Can tell you now, He still Loves Cardiff City with out doubt, the Riddler once he has finally gone after ONLY TAKING FROM OUR CLUB AND NOT PUTTING ONE PENNY OF HIS OWN MONEY IN, WE WILL NEVER HEAR A WORD FROM HIM AGAIN, The only things that he will do is try more Spin with another Club.

Re: SAM HAMMAM MY LORD, SAM HAMMAM

Sat Apr 10, 2010 5:38 pm

I'd love to see Sam back (in some capacity).

For what he has given the club he owes it to himself to come back.

I cant profess to like every single supporter and therefore Sam cannot expect every single supporter to like him. But Sam is a Supporter of CCFC and he deserves his place within the stadium rather than watching from afar!

Ive said that to Sam and I'll say it again. He's a good guy to have around

Lets not forget that if the plans went through as quickly as it should have. Or in other words if certain people didn't block the plans at every point then we'd have been in a new stadium a long time ago without that level of debt.

Some people always revert to a bullshit story, and it is bullshit, that the plans were not properly drawn up. The truth is they were being drawn up and put together by outside parties. Do you honestly think a man who has spent his life building properties all over the place would not have had the best people available to draw up the plans? Truth is they were properly drawn, but spanners were thrown in along the way.
I can tell you stories about butterflies, magpie nests and all sorts of crazy things that were imposed on the club. All of which cost a fortune. Did Swansea or Llanelli have to pay to plan and build all the roads around their grounds?

Sam came when no one else would and we was days from closure...
Sam left and the Riddler appeared and we was days from closure...
Riddler leaves with Malaysians coming in or we wouldve been days from closure.......

Personally the Hamman era was the most exciting in my time as a city fan esp that infamous leeds match which is the best game and athmosphere i have ever witnessed in my life. Sam thank you for that ..

We are in touching distance of the Dream that was started 10 years ago by Sam. Whatever has happened between then and now, the one thing that remains is the fact that Sam Hammam came and started laying the foundations to put us in the position that we find ourselves today. Touching distance ? Bit extreme

I know there are arguements and debates from both sides where Sam is concerned but I am glad and thankful that Sam came into our club. Woke it right up

10 years ago nobody wanted to touch Cardiff City FC, including investors, sponsors, not even the press had anything good to say about us but that changed the day Sam walked in. Correct

He raised the profile of the club, he gave us a belief, he gave us a winning team, an academy, a new stadium, he gave us recognition. Correct .

Sam lost a hell of lot of money in Cardiff City, around the £19million by my reckoning, £3 million he used to buy the club, the £6 million he let go when he was ousted and the £14 million that was reduced in the recent Langstone deal. Just Sam?

So today I say Thank You Sam and hopefully one day you will come into the new stadium and see the dream you created.

It was his money Baz because he came in at the beginning and used his £3 million to start the dream and dont forget Sam borrowed the money under his company not Cardiff City therefore not a secured loan and also I agree there were thousands of dreamers before Sam came but he turned our dreams into the reality that it is today, without Sam we would not be where we are right now.

Just his ?
