Welbeck is no doubt the much better player, but both players have played a very similar role or Welbeck taking up the wing. Welbeck is no doubt going to be a huge player, but at the moment I'd rather Jamie Mackie on permanent than on Welbeck on a loan.

Just my opinion of what I'd prefer to see

Welbeck is a much better player than Mackie and would very much compliment our side. I'm well aware of this.
I'd just rather a player who's here for the club and not as good than a player who's brilliant and only here for a season.

Didn't say it'd be better, said it's what I'd prefer. Out of some lost sense of seeing somebody actually commit to a football club than just get a loanee in who doesn't care about the club.
