Kenwy fix it? Cardiff will get Prem-ready with £7m punt on Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones -

Cardiff want to make £7million Kenwyne Jones their first Premier League signing.

Bluebirds owner Vincent Tan is desperate to make his mark in the top flight next season and is ready to back manager Malky Mackay in his bid to land the Stoke frontman.

Tan said: “We do not want to be a one-season wonder. Malky Mackay has a lot of things to do.

“We must support his work and be positive. We want the best for Cardiff City.

“We are in the Premier League and understand it is going to be difficult, but we will do everything we can to keep our place there.

“We want Cardiff City to be known as a Premier League club and there is work to be done.”

The Championship winners want to add Jones’s experience to their frontline and believe they can help him to regain his scoring touch.

The Trinidad and Tobago marksman, 28, hit just one league goal in 21 games last year and this season has scored just three times in 25 League appearances.

Stoke are ready to sell at the right price with boss Tony Pulis ready to revamp his with the funds he will recoup.

7m is way too much for him.

I wouldnt want to pay anything more than 5m really.

We play terrible football as it is. Him coming in the starting team in favour of for example Rudy would be exactly the same tactics, but obviously with better effect.

£7million!!! Tony Pulis would bite anyone's hand off for that. No-one else would pay that for him. I really hope it's not true because if that's the standard of player we are going to go for for that kind of money then we have no chance of staying up. Would rather the jacks buy him to be honest.
