I know I am in a very small minority but I believe that both Sam Hammam and Vincent Tan’s involvement with Cardiff City has been nothing but brilliant and the fruits of their individual visions will be bared for all this afternoon when we pick up the Championship Trophy for being the best team (by a mile IMO) in the whole of the Football League.

It is easy to pick on individual points or decisions made by both men during their time at this club and claim that is proof that one or the other is or was no good, but for me the sum of all the parts has added up to us being Champions and fulfilling our Premier League destiny.

I can’t thank either of them enough, firstly for Sam taking a punt on us in 2000 and then to VT for saving us from the taxman and then delivering promotion in 2013.

We should be honoured that both men came here and radically changed the mind set at CCFC, from a dungeon club with no ambition beyond survival to one that is about to aim for the very top of the English game.

Cheers to both. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I wouldn't exactly call it an honour for the kids.

One nearly ended our club, and the other has killed our clubs identity and tradition.

Hard to understand then how we are Champions of the league and will play in the Premiership next season. Goodness sake take in the footballing Prozac and enjoy life.

It's not all about the premiership for me though, maybe I'm a bit old fashioned but traditions and identity mean more.

Nothing wrong with being old fashioned but there are again you can't moan when things move on. The Premiership might not be the be all and end all for you (although it would be interesting to know if you will watch it) but for the vast majority of fans it is.

The natural emotion for football fans is to see their club do well and we at CCFC are no different.

According to Tan the fact that we are champions has nothing to do with Sam's original vision, nothing to do with Ridsdale completing the stadium and nothing to do with the millions he spent. It was because of the lucky red. They are both a pair of loons and I'm sure the children will see that straight away.

People forget without Sam we'd have been on the verge of a steady decline. We wouldn't have gone bang but it would have been a slow downward journey.

Why did Sam get involved in the first place? He saw potential and we earned promotion. It came at a cost but 10 years later we've been promoted again and I dont see everyone moaning about that.

You cant have it all. But as usual the British population live for today and take everything for granted.

an sam never split the fan base by the way he reckless ran the club
yes i am thankful for wat tan has done, but that does not mean i have to bury my

Re: ' SAM AND TAN THIS SUNDAY MORNING '

Is there anyone out there that is a fan of Sam and not a fan of VT, or vice versa?

They are like two peas in a pod, they both put money in when we were about to go under, they both saw the potential for the team (both in success and making money), they both wanted to rebrand the club and they both had a hand in getting us where we find ourselves today.

They BOTH deserve credit, but they both have their faults.

As for my initial question I could not see why anyone would have an affinity with one of them but not the other. Sam only didn't follow through on his rebrand because some fans had his ear and convinced him the need for passion as opposed to business. You could say this was his undoing. Tan got it done and it was a hard decision to take for us fans, but you cannot say he did not follow through and deliver. It could have been done without red but that's the restrictions that he put on the investment and at the end of the day it's his money, however he invested it.

totally agree, they both are just the same, you got people on this forum who make out tan is
the anti christ an sam is the savour, talk about double standards.
one brought the rebransd in the other nearly took us to the wall.
but without the pair of them city would not be wer they are today.
but i do not trust the pair of them, but that is my opinion only.

A bit tired of this new love-in between two characters who are using our club for their own purposes.

Football fwends! Why don't they just get a room together?

I can imagine the kids tomorrow. "Daddy, who are those two strange looking men standing by the side of the pitch?"

Really why?

What's so special against playing in front of too wealthy men?

Don't be a complete knob, mate. The kids are young and imprssionable, so someone like VT (and even Sam) would be 'special' to them...a bit like when Santa comes to your house at Chrimbo ;)

Let the kids enjoy the experience without putting them (or anyone else) down for that, eh?

Pick on the adulst...they can fight back ;) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Yea but without Sam we wouldnt have been in massive debt on the verge of admin and needing the likes of the Riddler to see us through untill Tan could save us. People will always blame Tan for the rebrand but some blame has to lie at the feet of Sam for leading us down this path. This is a man who destroyed one club and nearly destroyed ours. Got not respect for the man and cant wait for the day when he has nothing to do with the club :ayatollah:

Re: ' SAM AND TAN THIS SUNDAY MORNING '

Yes, Sam developed the youth at our club... using money from a loan taken out against the club that we are now being strangled to death with. I'm sure he did it out of the goodness of his heart and not the interest rate of the loan. Maybe I'm just cynical?!

Saw Tan at breakfast this morning at the Marriott. He was chatting to a middle eastern looking fella. They looked over the sports pages together. Didn't see Sam.
Update: not sure if Tan likes sausage.
