BluebirdJM wrote:its not malkys fault we got fans from all over, would you expect alex ferguson to mention everywhere man u fans come from whenever he mentions them? same with liverpool and the other clubs with loads of support?

serious question though, why do we have so much support from places like merthyr and places like that? do they not have a team?

Do I say he should mention all the individual places? No

But he should stop saying the "people of Cardiff" seeing as the people of Cardiff dont even make up half the support.

You dont hear Fergie say he won something for the people of Manchester as he knows their support is not just City based.

I always thought Castleton, Marshfield etc. were in Cardiff, until I saw the Welcome to the City of Cardiff sign a mile down the road towards St. Mellons. :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6:

No

Also Cardiff Blues have more supporters from the residents of Cardiff than Cardiff City do.

The City are well supported from likes of Ely, Canton, Grangetown but not very
well supported from across the river.

Or at least get him to mention "and the surrounding areas".

Whilst I have been critical of his playing style at times I have alwats given him credit as a person and hes excellent in front of the camera.

But he keeps saying "We done it fir the people of the City" but they dint even make up half the support.

Without Barry, The Valleys, Neath.etc.etc "The City" would have folded years ago.

What about our Malaysian fans? ;)

Plenty of City fans in Roath, we are furious Malky hasn't personally thanked us for our support.

As a City fan from the Rhondda I see nothing wrong with what Malky said.

Common knowledge Carl with a K. Also confirmed on here a while back by someone at the ticket office. Only 45% of ST holders come from the City of Cardiff.

I read in the paper today about how the promotion to the Premier League will benefit the 'Cardiff Region'

May be MM should say that?

 Fair comment

Cardiff based fans might only have 45% of registered season ticket holders, but that is still the biggest single concentration of fans (as the 'Valley's' is not a single place but a collective of smaller towns)

So I see nothing wrong with what MM is saying.

"I'm from Cardiff and so is my wife" - but as I now live in the Rhymney valley I think it is an appalling lack of respect. It is this sort of sloppiness that could have lost us the war...

Come on boys you know he means all of us - put your over-sensitive button on mute.

Couldn't make this shit up if you tried.

Quite a few of us travel down from Scotland. He's Scottish and didn't even mention us once. Only joking, love Malky and his total passion for the club. :ayatollah:

I have just got off the phone to Tan. Ive got a meeting set up with him Saturday morning.

He liked my idea of rebranding us CVFC.

At home the idea wil be sold as Cardiff & Valleys Football Club.

In the Far East the V will stand for Vinny. Cardiff & Vinnys Football Club.
