MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL AT THE STADIUM

Ive been told by my mate who works for a major network provider that usage in stadiums is restricted to 5% of coverage. This is to stop people getting bets on straight after a goal is scored before it get to the bookies. So really it to stop people from f*cking bookies over really with after the event bets. How true it is i dont know!!!

They have wifi at lords. Was able to watch sky go to see a reply of any incident. Surely only a matter of time before football clubs do the same?

Im a st holder in the very last row of the canton and ive never been able to get my sky sports app to work for live scores on orange or three networks its a sad state of affairs I watched chievo in pre season from the grandstand and my phone worked perfectly I think its either the stand or the monitor interference is the problem

It's shocking Gwyn, I watched Man Utd this season at Old Trafford, Internet coverage was perfect!

Get 4g , I changed and get no trouble at all now. It didn't cost me anything to upgrade to 4g .

I have tries a few time on different games ,but cant get out at all not even a txt .

I am with 3 EE and have 4G I cant even send a text during a game

Depends what part of the ground ur in lads as I said im back of canton and never been able to get a signal but in the ninian or grandstand it works fine so im guessing the signal is coming from behind the canton lol

I remember reading somewhere once that the phone jamming at stadiums is due to the police stopping possible hooligan confrontations being arranged.

I would like a internet signal for HT to look at score but its not the end of the world that I cant.

Annoying not being able to text though or even recieive texts, my mrs couldnt say where she was parked to pick me up after the game

There are many other reasons that cell phone out of signal in the stadium. Many stadium installed phone signal jammer.

Anyone have ever been caught by that device?

Always had trouble with 3G however upgraded to 4G a few weeks ago and boom it works a treat

has anyonelse noticed it is almost impossible now to get an internet signal on your phone around and during the match time in the stadium, this has got progressively worse over recent games, is there a reason behind it.

Can't the club do something with a wifi signal we could buy as a package for the season or whatever.

I though there was a reason behind it to do with the betting exchanges. For example bet fair with real time markets gets closed when someone scores. In theory youif you are in the stadium you could place a next goal bet before the market has had chance to be closed!

I also have a bit of coverage but internet is shite! When I went to Fulham craven cottage...there was no mobile coverage at all for 3-4 hours!!

They used to do it for attempting to sign up to that silly thing they did before, can't remember what it was but blocked the signal, Jenkins showed me how it worked. After enough complaints we got given the stadium wifi code to use. But your Malaysian mates will be launching a chargeable service soon that invites you to visit Malaysia , order Kenny Rodgers for half time , wash in cosway products, order red shirts and scarfs and get the half times scores.

I'm not so sure about that being true, we are up in the premier lounge and we have free wifi in the lounge, however if I'm in my seat the signal is not strong enough to reach but if I wanted to put a bet on straight after a goal it's possible if I was in the lounge.
