I would disagree regarding your point on European football, I just don't think the Europa Cup is a draw for players, especially not British ones, as the competition is treated with disdain by British clubs. If I was a player, I would prefer to choose a club that have more stability in that league, which would be yourselves. However, the over riding factor, would be money, especially if it was a significant amount. I believe that the owner will back the manager with a sensible budget in order to get the players he wants, I do not see us getting outbid by Swansea or in that sense quite a number of more established Premier league clubs.

Perfectly summed up in my opinion scotsjack and I'm sure both managers will have targets and club directors will be giving both a budget that MUST be adhered to. Next season the Financial Fair Play rules apply and as spending will be directly aligned to income Swansea are the richer club, the Europa League will take care of that.

I'm sure MM has done his homework and has his targets which will be based on the challenge that lies ahead for us, ML will have the same but the challenge is bigger for Swansea and because of the Europa League would, in my opinion, make Swansea a more attractive proposition than Cardiff.

As I see it Swansea have done well since thier promotion and unlike many clubs who are promoted via the playoffs are still on an upward curve in terms of improvement and development. We are on a steeper curve and for us next season will be about consolidation, not just avoiding relegation, but much like the Swans did last season be competitive.

If we can do that it will give us the opportunity to mirror what Swansea have done and that is move on from consolidation to establishing ourselves as a Premier League club.

Think we might possibly offer more wages, but the lure of European football and the fact swansea have done well in their two PL seasons is a big plus for them. Although if they are Scottish I think they'll come to us

i think our biggest pull is that we have established ourselves in the prem (sort of) and micheal laudrup , also the way players are gaining recognition such as vorm , michu ,chico , taylor , davies , de guzman and williams also the way caulkers career came on leaps and bounds while on loan
players will see our club as a chance to get that move to the "big boys" and the massive pay day , look at joe allen and sinclair for example then again if they're just chasing the money i would rather you have them anyway

there are many reasons why a player may pick cardiff over swansea or vice versa (that means the other way round) that you cant control it.

In fairness, Vorm & Michu were unknown quantities coming into the premiership. They weren't massive names at the time, though their subsequent success at Swansea has made them big names.
