Malky will do what Malky does best, look at the Mason, Mutch, KimBo, Turner, Gunnars and Noone signings, all young hungry footballers with superb attitudes and real quality, I'm not saying all these players are premiership footballers but they have the potential to be and are always learning. Malky is always a step ahead and always planning for the future.

I seen an interview with Malky on Sky Sports News earlier and he was saying how the recruitment team have already been looking at players over the past few months on a 'what if' basis and that he's only looking to bring players in that are going to strengthen and add to the core of the squad.

The confidence and faith I have in Malky is huge and I couldn't think of a better manager to lead us into the Premier League. :malky: :malky:

I think it would be to be honest. He's 20 years old, quality, plays for Wales and would have the right attitude.

That's not the exact definition of a "Marquee" signing though. Eg Bellamy, Fowler, Koumas.

Williams would be a quality addition though.

I'd take 9/11 of their starting 11 to be honest. Michu wasn't known before he signed for the Jacks and he's certainly what I would describe as a marquee signing now.

He would be NOW - because he's a big name. Williams isn't a big name YET.

At the time, Michu wasn't a marquee signing.

Well why the f**k do we need a marquee signing. Fowler and Koumas were rubbish, Bellamy okay. Lets sign Heskey to tick the marquee signing box then.

To me a marquee signing would be a great signing - big name or not. My opinion off course.

The meaning of MARQUEE is pretty important to this thread, which I created. Surely even you can see that.

Koumas was rubbish? You clearly weren't there the season he single handedly kept us mid table.

I'm not debating whether its right or wrong if there were. I'm asking if you think there will be. Tan seems to like the idea of big names.

Well I'm afraid your opinion is wrong this time, the definition of marquee signing isn't that.

For someone who constantly bleats about the right to an opinion you seem to only apply that to yourself.

MY OPINION - Koumas was rubbish.

MY OPINION - A marquee signing is a good signing.

MY OPINION - You love an argument, it seems to give you a kick.

Is that okay with you Chuckles? Or are opinions only welcome if you agree with them?

As you were.

Where did I say you weren't allowed an opinion?

It's MY OPINION that anyone who thinks Koumas was rubbish the season he was with us at Ninian, they clearly haven't got a clue about football.

Your opinion about what defines a marquee signing is factually incorrect.

Again, where did I say that?

Your opinion about what defines a MARQUEE signing is incorrect. It's not about opinions, it's a definition.

Your opinions about Koumas, as wrong as I feel you are, are yours to give.

Re: WILL THERE BE A MARQUEE SIGNING?

If a MARQUEE player is on mm fancied list he'll be in, if not he won't.
Tan will not overrule mm. Tan is very successful and will have learnt how to work with his key personnel.
So it being up to mm I can't see anyone coming in who might remotely think they're bigger than CCFC.

If signing the top scoring midfielder from la liga isnt a marquee signing but koumas is then I have no idea what a marquee signing is.

Check the definition then.

Signing Michu wasn't a big shock. Not Many had heard of him and he wasn't such a big name for a premier league club.

For a cash strapped club, signing Koumas at his peak was a big shock for Cardiff, who weren't in the top flight.

It's all relative - instead of comparing the two players directly. Michu is undoubted the best player out of those two signings - that's not what was up for debate though.

So little old swansea city signing the top goal scoring midfielder in Spain isnt a shock? Shows how far we have come. Anybody with a little knowledge of Spanish football knew plenty about him.

Not really, no. Not exactly a massive name at the time. Certainly made a name for himself now though.

Maybe not next year but there will be a 3 year plan to take us there.

so dont buy any players until january....ok then

we could be relegated by then

i agree it would be wise to save some of the budget for then but only enough for 1 maybe 2 players. we will need to strengthen in the summer, theres absolutely no doubt about that.

Go into Spain and nick a striker off a team in financial ruin.
