Yes great football today and over the years Ive shed many a tear during and after City games, from relegations to promotions,to beating Leeds Utd etc. I am happy tonight, but if only we could have done all this with our identity, then going to the promised land I would of shed many a tear with you.

The atmosphere was great today Annis and if anyone had any doubt the sound of our fans singing "The Blues Are Going Up" all around the ground should prove to the fans we are still CARDIFF CITY - THE BLUEBIRDS.

It was everything about today, the build up to the game after conceding late to Barnsley on Tuesday, Forest on an unbeaten run of 10 games, a record attendance for our stadium, Watford were losing when we got the 2nd goal, the celebrations that followed Rudy's first.

I celebrated with my daughter and probably hugged here tighter than I should have and somehow ended up standing on my seat without even realising I jumped up, I think it was others grabbing hold of me that lifted me on to my seat.

I hope that others felt the same way today as that was a special feeling that I know I won't experience too many times in football but I will never forget it.

This season has been a long season, I don't know if it is because of the way the fixtures have been set up and perhaps the headache that has provided in organising the away trips but today made it all worth while and I am looking forward to enjoying the ride for the last four games.

Carl. I know what you mean and the last time I felt like that was after the Millennium Stadium win exactly 10 years ago next month :ayatollah:

I think the whole place erupted at the final whistle (well, those that stayed to the end ;) ) but I couldn't help notice how peeved Annis looked when Malky failed to do the 'Malky' at the end :o :?

Understood it Tueday (the Malky thing) but not after a performance like today's) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Yes I was waiting for it, so I could finish the day with the Malky punch.
Hmm I was fuming and blame Tan

Annis, I could see you as you left your seat and you didn't look happy and I could agree with you more. We all waited and did the 'finger-wiggling' thing and he just walked down the tunnel. WTF?

One of the guys next to me said straight away: "Odd he didn't do it when VT was there"

not sure if that was the reason but very odd at the end of a VERY successful afternoon :o

Still, we got what we came for...a win!! Happy days!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky:

Carl, Nobby, Annis, Martin others,

This has been an exciting day indeed, but I cannot imagine how awesome it is for you guys. I have never met any of you in person, but as a part of this community I can say I am so proud for you guys and what you have endured to get here. One point away! This week is your's and I am just honored to watch. I am certain it will happen but I will not raise a glass till it does. When the team clinches that point I will be having a drink to my fellow Forum members who deserve to enjoy this moment.

Exactly the same for me, when Rudy made it 2nil I lifted my boy and looked to the heavens and I think at that very moment most of felt we had done it! We know we have not done it officially but the confidence in this bunch of hard working players and young manager means it is just a formality! Bloooobirds :ayatollah:

Tues might be more emotional though

Agree Carlos. Today's game felt like a turning point. I made sure I really took time today to look around and appreciate the fantastic support that is still here. First time I've seen everyone encouraging each other to do the Ayatollah for ages. Stands singing to each other. We always play up when the away come down in numbers and I'm pleased that Forest did so fair play to the sca.....ooooops, their fans. Gotta luv Posh too. Great performance today. Pleased for Rudy. Superkev is also back in the building.

Now, without tempting fate, I would propose that if and when we get promoted, we plan a f*cking massive forum piss-up. Massive. Huge. A Monster. Bastardo.

It's not quite done yet and after 42 years watching the BLUEBIRDS I will wait till we get that final point but I was close to shedding a tear today and when we get there we must all remember this is a special team with a special Manager fist pump or not :D

One thing today was something I have been saying for years i loved Ninian Park but it is US fans that create the atmosphere and if we all remember that then we can get the CCS bouncing.

If we do it on Tuesday i will definitely shed a tear or two :old: :ayatollah:

Great original post from Carl and I know exactly where he's coming from .

That second goal released a load of emotion all around where I sit in stadium, back slapping, high fives, people hugging each other. Kids all around sharing the Watford score, it was a feeling that we are there.
Most of us have probably believed for some time we should get promoted, but have shown Malky's caution and said nothing. That second goal changed everything, I kept looking at people and shaking my head with a lump in my throat.

Great day & performance, fantastic atmosphere and so proud to be a Bluebird! :ayatollah:
