Annis your headline could just as well read "Malky has some doubts about some city fans"after some of the bile I've read on here this season. As for next season-its a totally different dynamic and one that they don't teach on football manager. :laughing6:

I know what you mean, but sometimes with managers they keep safe and use their current tactics. I personally feel our football isn't good enough, so I want a change. We've been lucky that every club has been dropping points. Any other season and we probably wouldn't be top.

malky is to stubborn we played well yesterday but he should have made those changes a long time before yesterday peterborough was a fiasco and many games before that as well i will wait for the backlash of posts but this season the football has not inspired me but hey give him the benefit of doubt we are top but god knows how  so my conclusion is if we go up we have to have faith in the guy :?: if not ta ra malky one more thing how many games next season before the push hmmm  :ayatollah:

I always trusted Malky to deliver us promotion this season. When he first arrived I would have settled for a mid table finish and in that season we went to Wembley and made the play offs. He is a brilliant manager, very promising and I have rarely doubted him. It will though be interesting to see what happens next season as it is a new experience for him as a manager. When we are there in the Premier league I do hope and think that under Malky we will exceed expectations for the season similarly to how the jacks were on their first season.

Love the guys passion, is his own man, admired him making changes early in games when things needed changing but then worried when he went Jones like and started leaving it too late.
Been a bit concerned recently when he seemed stuck in his ways when we weren't performing , but faith fully restored after he mixed it up yesterday..
Overall, much more good than bad, handles the press well, deflects the pressure off the players, best manager we've had for donkeys. :malky:

Re: Malky, Many City fans have their doubts?

Honestly malky wasnt my first choice to replace Jones, even though hed done an excellent job at watford
Unbelievable job he did last season to gel pretty much a new side and go on that amazing cup run.
The players gave it their all but we were never going to beat west ham after such a long gruelling season
Malky added the likes of bellers, nooney ,kim and the unfortunate nicky maynard to the quality squad we already had
Malkys quote along the lines of "fans will forgive failure but never a lack of effort" sums up the mans philosophy
The main thing that worries me next season is obviously Tan.The guy as we know came out and said red is the colour of good fortune or something then we go (fingers crossed) and win the league, his already large ego will go through the roof
Unfortunately i dont see him giving malky much time if results dont go our way. I wouldnt be surprised if a big foreign name is bought in for next season
Whatever happens ill be backing Malky all the way ,hes earnt this :malky: :malky: :malky: :malky:

How you can say he hasnt spent fortunes I dont know.

We pay out Premiership wages ffs. Biggest budget a manager of this club has ever had.

As someone has already posted without Bellers influence you do wonder how we would have fared this season.

A good manager of people and media but seriously needs to change his pilosophy and learn quickly at next level or he will be gone by xmas.

I agree Makly has done great, and made some great calls to bring off a player or 2 and replace them and got us back into the game. Thats a hell of a lot more than DJ did, I cant remember many times at all that we even come back after going a goal down. The true test of Malky is yet to come, If we go up , what kind of team he can put together to keep us there.

No time for positivity from me. I know we're promoted, so i'm already on the next stage ;)

We need new tactics, new players, and it will be an exciting summer. I like Malky, I like the players, and I know we need to adjust and change the way we play if we want to survive, and many would agree our style of football wouldn't be good enough for the Prem. :ayatollah:

Positives... He has instilled a never say die attitude at City. No big time Charlie's and is flexible and not affraid to change things when results haven't gone our way.

Negatives... This season's negative formations, Whitts being deployed as a central defender and lets be honest the hoofball crap has been for me the worst to watch for a very very long time. Poor stats for attempts on goal and relying on winning ugly or nicking a draw in the last minute. This year, especially of late, we have been incredibly lucky that many of the top 6 have also fecked up when we have. At Peterborough, my heart sank when I saw the starting line up of Helgusson, Smith, Whitts and Cowie in the middle. It was clear that we weren't going to blow Posh away. Yet it took Conway to arrive to at least create a few chances.
I seriously worry that unless MM adopts a little more attacking prowess in the way he sets up his team, we will be blown away next year and Tan will have little patience with him as failure will not be an option.
I truly hope not as he deserves his chance in the Prem, but I fear he'll be gone by Xmas.

Tbh Tim I think there has been too much pressure to go up this season.

I believe MM felt he had enough quality in the squad to play a defensive season and get promoted. He would have looked at all the other teams and would have seen one big advantage we had. We were the only team in the league that could build on the previous season. Most of the other teams were in turmoil with either getting a new manager or rebuilding their squads. Those teams that did not have those problems were crap anyway.

Next season in the premier we all know is going to be totally different. We certainly need to add to the squad and play a different game. Is MM up it it? I've got a feeling he is going to surprise us all.

At this moment in time Malky is doing a good job most consitant team in the league so I cant argue with that .As for the prem well we will have to see what happens but I am confidant Malky will do well good manager. :malky:

Wigan try to play great football every game, sometimes it pays off and they're great to watch, but they're 4th or 5th bottom and been bottom 3 all season. What would we prefer?

Bellamy hasn't been available for a fair chunk of this season, and we are not the only team with a big budget (see Wolves, Blackburn, Bolton, Forest, Hull, Watford loans. Leicester, parachute payment teams such as Blackpool & Burnley, even Ipswich!

I've never had doubts about Malky, a top class young manager. I think he is learning a lot as he goes and next season will be the same but nobody can disagree that he hasn't done a fine job so far at Cardiff :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Keep the faith! Sacking Malky unfairly will be truly the worst thing Tan has done if he does it.

Stop talking bollocks hes played 25 times.

Malky has spent around 10m on transfers and we are paying a number of players over 20k a week and a few between 30-40k a week.

That is not your average championship budget I am sorry.

Annis banged on about Jones budget enough when he was in charge well the budget Malky has had this season dwarfs anything Jones had to work with.

Malky has built a better long term squad than Jones wold have built with the same budget though.

Both prefer smaller squads though, Malky has decided on far more negative football, which has been effective though.

I am not so sure, you cant compare this season with Jones last season as Tan tried to get promotion on the cheap ie loans if you listen to Jones.

Had Jones been given the funds to BUY players perhaps he wouldnt have gone for so many short term solutions.

Jones signed plenty of decent youngsters - Mcormack, Loovens, Johnson, Chopra, etc

It was more general over the course of his career than just cardiff, I'm no jones hater though I'm not a huge fan either.

Malky brought basic things like linking the scouting network, more organised training, stuff like that, it's not just money.
