Blue before Prem yes!

But also its the fact that we are the benchmark of football club rebranding, the first to do it (Wimbledon/MKD aside). It had to be us didnt it?! Despise it, it reeks of everything that is wrong with modern sport, its like Tesco's obsession with shutting down the traditioal shops to gain world retail domination!!

But, today after much thought I am renewing my ST, giving it another season to see if I can finally live with this red dragon nonsense, but its more about me missing the boys in blue with the bluebird flying high and the fact that we are whores for cash. As long as its Cardiff City I scream and shout 100% but it aint the same for me thats for sure. Tan is our dictator.

Will continue to wear blue and sing blue based songs, If I am threatened or mouthed off to for being blue at any time, this will be the last straw and maybe be a U turn I dont want to take with my ST, this will be one of the most dissapointing days of my life,I am well aware thats happening. I will sit next to a red no bother at all, banter yes? threats no.

At the end of the day, mate, it had to be SOMEONE and from a survival point of view I am glad it was us, as the alternative (and no-one can deny) would have seen us alongside the likes of Portsmouth, Coventry et al or maybe even worse

I stated on here some time ago that football in this country was beginning to move towards an American-style 'franchise' system and I was laughed at by the usual suspects. To a large extent the 'bigger' clubs (ManUre, Chelski, Liverpuddle etc) have already done so, whilst even Swansea Town were rumoured to have done the same but that turned out only to be the opening of the new McD's next to the Library Stadium

Seriously, over the next few years a LOT of traditional clubs will struggle and will be forced out of business (and I point towards Leyton Orient as a case in point following West Ham's ill-thought out capture of the Olympic Stadium) and the surviving clubs will be those with BIG backers and a BIG fan-base from which to draw their support

When (if) that happens then we may look back and thank VT (as most already do) for his investment when NO-ONE else (with money) cared enough about us and for the FACT that he stabilised a failing business before taking it on like a Phoenix from the ashes into the Premiership and all that means

Vincent Tan HAS benn good for Cardiff City FC on the whole and few can realistically deny that. We can't all live in Ivory Towers and sometimes we mortals have to accept things for what they are ;) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If you judge the last 50 years of it you will see out tradition was shite football and very small crowds.

You only have to read the boards to realise 80% wouldnt follow the city if we struggled......its always been that way.

Tradition my arse......if we dont have a few years of success we are screwed.

Very true, I'm afraid. There was a time where the attending fans had the keys to 'lock up' on their way out and had to spread ourselves out along the Bob Bank to make sure we could throw the ball back if it came off the field of play during the game. Fighting was only interrupted when 22 guys came out onto the pitch to have a kick-about watched by some clown with a whistle and dressed all in black (still not sure what that was all about to this day, as it never seemed to amount ot anything :? )

McPhailS is correct, the current 'Success Bandits' would drop City like a stone IF we were to 'revert to type' and not be a VERY successful team/club. It is an unfortunate FACT of modern life, although (as stated it wasn't much better even in the so-called 'Golden Days' we all remember with the same pair of rose-tinted spectacles

Cardiff City FC NEEDS success in order to survive and only those with negative agendas (and there aren't as many as the vocal few on here might suggest) could claim otherwise

HOW we gain that 'success' will be gauged partially on how individuals PERCEIVE it (in MY case financial stability and promotion to The Premiership ;) ) and largely on the wants and opinions of the guy holding the purse strings; in OUR case Vincent Tan

It's a harsh reality of 'modern' football that wealthy owners want to make their mark and Vincent Tan is no different in that respect

What we as fans need to decide is whether we can accept that or not?

Personally, I love Cardiff City FC far too much to abandon her during what is ultimately just another chapter in a book that I pray still has a long way to go. Unfortunately, there are many others of whom I can't be so sure have the same passion for the club :(

Well said, McPhailS :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

What cracks me up is before the west ham play off game no one considered changing or leaving the club.
We were all happy for Tan to continue pumping money into a failing side.
No one at all (Fans ESP) wanted anything touched.
Sadly things have happened that not a single person on this forum can do about it.
All the bickering is just making things worse, rather than clearing any air.
I have said in the past and I say it again now "the only reason why I resent VT is because he has turned the fans against each other".
I will not fall out with a fan who wants to embrace the red nor will I fall out with a fan who walks away from it.

Just have to realise that fans at Coventry, Portsmouth and Dunfermline would bite our hands off to be in our position.
