I don't think we'll get a win, but stranger things have happened.

Of course, as Williams says, we have to win. Anything else is not enough.

Wales v Croatia: World Cup hopes reliant on Gareth Bale's battle with former Tottenham team-mate Luka Modric
Wales manager Chris Coleman believes a battle of football genius between Gareth Bale and Luka Modric will determine his nation’s World Cup fate in Swansea on Tuesday night.

Coleman admitted it was not quite Lionel Messi versus Cristiano Ronaldo at the Liberty Stadium, but not far off it. If the La Liga pair are the ‘A-list’ exponents of modern virtuosity, Coleman sees Bale and Modric in the second tier.

Bale has recovered from illness to face Croatia, pitched head-to-head against his former Tottenham team-mate who tormented Wales in the 2-0 home victory last October.

Coleman admits the Real Madrid playmaker is unstoppable at his best, and although he again dismissed suggestion Wales rely too heavily on Bale – their second half win against Scotland was achieved without their midfielder – he is relishing the chance to see two class acts squaring up.

“Modric is an outstanding player and on his day he is unstoppable, just like our player Gareth Bale,” said Coleman.

“Sometimes when great players – the top, top players – are on form it’s very difficult to stop. Sam Allardyce summed it up recently after West Ham played Tottenham at Upton Park.
