To have a sense of humour would mean to imply there was common sense there in the first place.

That's the thing about Common Sense.... Not that Common.

Ian I think that is totally rewriting history. We know exactly what would happened if part of VT's £6m investment in May 2010 hadn't been used to settle the HMRC tax bill which had a pending winding up order in the High Court i.e. we would have been wound up.

That is what happens in the High Court when tax bills are not settled, ask Glasgow Rangers.

Yes indeed Tony the thread of liquidation is perhaps Tans strongest calling card.

The idea of Newco Cardiff really appeals to me now.

Saving the club, investing AND NOT WALKING AWAY AFTER BLACKPOOL FAILURE - has my thanks and respect.

Sort of see his thort on rebranding but he most definitely didnt handle it well.

Overall i back him.

Barry, the OP clearly stated;
"IT'S EASY TO SAY WHY YOU DON'T LIKE THE MAN.
TRY SAYING WHY YOU DO LIKE/APREICATE//RESPECT THE MAN?"

Some have had valid reasons whilst some have just decided to dispute the rebrand with yourself.

You have and have not answered the original question, you have (if I'm reading this correctly) stated you Hate Tan!!

Not having a pop just trying to get a clear picture
"Is there not one single solitary thing that your greatful to VT for?"

Re: VINCENT TAN.

It also asked for personal opinions. Which I gave.

Re: VINCENT TAN.

Wed Mar 20, 2013 7:16 pm

Tan is using his business acumen in an attempt to turn around a failing business. I agree that a Football Club is like like no other business though.

Has no other chairman/owner ever tried to maximise the potential of our club before ? And did we put up with changes ?
Our problem is Tan has a different strategy to others.

As regards an earlier post - HMRC are of the same opinion as Tan - football clubs are no different to any other business - pay your taxes or be liquidated. I know others saw a large queue of other investors but I didn't , therefore we were in last chance saloon and Tan paid the tax bill which is why , I think , he saved the club and for this I give him credit.

Well actually what I asked was;
"So please don't abuse people's views and opinions on this thread just state your own personal view."

Which was in relation to the only question I asked which was;
"TRY SAYING WHY YOU DO LIKE/APREICATE//RESPECT THE MAN?"

The idea of Newco Cardiff really appeals to me now.

I genuinely think those are the only 2 scenarios in town :

1. Go with VT
2. The Club goes to to the wall

I do respect the views of those who would go for no.2 and what I call the 'Phoenix' scenario - make a new club up and start from scratch again - I just disagree with it 100% personally.

The idea though that without VT, we would carry on fine - go down a few leagues posssibly, but still survive , is one I just can't see happening. Whose going to continue to pay the tax man if VT stops paying into us?

Why is "the thread of liquidation" seen as "Tans strongest calling card" ?
Have HMRC said "If Tan takes over we want our money , otherwise carry on and ignore the tax bills" ?
Surely it was a reality that we were not paying our tax bill ? Tan paid it and kept the company afloat ?

I'm not discussing the aftermath here , just the scene at that time.

The post you posted asked for opinions on Tan. It said to TRY to be positive.

I tried & I couldn't. Until the rebrand, I thought he was great. But after the rebrand & his subsequent disregard of fans in his media interview, I cannot respect the man at all.
