Re: What on earth are we going to do about the atmosphere

Times and society has changed. The days have gone when people had nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon than go to watch the match. They now make a choice on how to spend their hard earned money with lots of other entertainment, not to mention wall-to-wall coverage on TV.

Strangely, most people don't want to down 6 pints of Stella/Strongbow, snort some whizz and hurl foul mouthed abuse at opposition fans. They just want to watch a match in comfort and safety. With the increasing cost of tickets, this is the way football is going. Get used to it. :old:

These new plastics just dont sing, unlike the old ninian crew !... But as we expand the stadium these plastics are gonna have to turn into real fans and start getting vocal otherwise the atmosphere wont change !.. I think the position we been in the last few years makes most of the fans very nervous which reduces the singing too. If we get promoted and where complete underdogs of being a top ten team then we got nothing to lose and no reason to be nervous so there will be a much better atmosphere !.. Imo

Who the f**k are you to call another City fan "plastic"? Someone who has paid for a ticket and got off his arse to get to the ground is as much of a City fan as you are!

The last time I was in the Canton there were happy clapper people sat down passing around sweets like they were watching a movie in a f*cking cinema. I'd like to see the residents of blocks 118-116 come into the Canton so the whole stand can sing in one voice instead of having fragmented bits of songs overlapping each other.

Are people not allowed to pass around sweets or have a good time with their friends :?

The 'crap' atmosphere is simply caused by so-called success on & off the pitch, and the way football is going. It is going this way with all clubs.

You get a new stadium and attract 10,000 more fans - the fans are made up of families, kids, women. The majority of the type of extra support you get, isn't the type that has a belly full of beer and sings their heart out. They are already there.

The whole football day is now set out to be an enjoyable family experience.

It has been good at CCS - Leicester/Palace/Jacks - but these are one-offs for big occasions. We are now just the same as the other happy clappy stadiums around the country. It aint just us.

Derby/Birmingham were like churches last two visits from us - Birmingham used to be electric, especially when Cardiff were in town.

Football in general is going this way.
