I seriouly tried to take the changes on board, my first reaction after the rebrand was simular to yours. Was about to book a flight and come over for a protest-march, thought there's going to be mayhem as noone would ever dare to touch our identity. But nothing happened. KCB was launched, but half-hearted and by the wrong guys. Plus they made the wrong calls and got bullied by some who I wanted to lead the protest.

But as nothing happened, I thought may I was in the wrong, maybe it could work, giving up your identity as we have given up Ninian...
Just before the season I made the decision, I need to find out myself. So I came over for 2 weeks, watching 4 City games in that period. And driving back from Brighton, I finally knew I couldnt ever accept the rebrand. This wasnt my club anymore, leaving Ninian was bad, it broke my heart. But seeing us in red with that thing as our crest tore my heart right out of my chest. It didnt feel like City anymore, this was an alien club, just happened to play in Cardiff. A club, I didnt choose to support. The excitement is as big as if I would watch the Cardiff Blues. A Cardiff team, "yeah lets go Taffies..." but that's it...

My last game at Bristol City was like a bad dream. A grey movie in which I am walking alone and feel no soul, no passion, no excitement...and that was what I once loved about the City. Not the success on the pitch, the feeling that this club once gave me.

I am a logical thinker, cant help myself, being German doesnt help there (altho I somehow feel very attached to Wales, Cardiff in particular), so I got a few options what I can do:

1 - accept the rebrand (out of the question)
2 - just leave and find another club to support (cant do that somehow)
3 - boycott the current red CCFC and hope our club finally wakes up (yes)
4 - support a phoenix club, with our original values, identity etc (will do that in the meantime, as long as red CCFC is in place)

To boycott the club I once loved to bits, is hard, but it feels worse seeing it yourself. Therefore I decided a few months back, I wouldnt watch them anymore. Still a Cardiff fan, but our CCFC not the new red club.

That is my decision, I respect Gwyn and others who accept the rebrand. But I demand that ones (like me) who simply cannot accept red and that badge for our club, are treated in the same manner. We put money into our club, we watched the team home and away, on cold tueday night games on open terraces with rain pouring down. We were there, and to hear from fellow "fans" stuff like: "haha drama queen, your not a real fan, you wont be missed...good riddance, I say" is just out of order.

You were thinking of travelling from Germany as the heritage and soul of the club means so much to you and some people can't be assed standing up to the dictator who live over here, pretty sad when you have more fight in you than people actually from Cardiff mate.

I commend you on that though, you are a top man and next time you're in the country we'll have to meet up for a pint, get the Badger involved as well :ayatollah:

If we were like other clubs with fans representation on the board (fans as a collective, not a fan who happens to be a board member) then yes you would have an argument but we dont so we have no control over anything that happens.

You have two choices either recognise the club despite changes is still your local club or walk away.

I wont feel sorry for someone who deliberately boycotts the club thats your choice you could just as easily watch the games. I respect your decision as at least you have made a choice, unlike some fans who say hate the rebrand, disgusted with what Tan is doing will never support him by the way renewed my season ticket last week. So in actual fact you are supporting him as your giving him all your money.

I hope you do come back, I feel it a shame that a moment like promotion you may miss out on especially as its something we have waited for, for a very long time.

Please stop putting yourself in the "WE" bracket you dont even pay your money to watch the games

Your just one of many of Tans "Yes" men as you get paid by him.

bored shows how much you know really but hey getting used to your snipes now. I will say WE all I want ive followed Cardiff longer than I care to remember your elitist attitude is frankly boring.

tell you one thing that will piss you off, you call me one of Tans 'Yes' men, im a cost he has to pay me, no profit off me for Tan, your the one throwing your money at him every weekend screaming YES YES YES, so Polo who really is the 'Yes' man here

Mate I hear/feel your pain its similar to mine, I sat next to you at that meeting disgusted and ultimately resigned to the fact we'd play in red, I can't stand it I hate it but I've come rd to the idea these guys have a shelf life but the club I support remains, it's been really hard mate but the pride and passion in our squad on that pitch has allowed me to love my team although resenting anything to do with red and THAT badge I'm filled with pride watching malky and the boys there application is type I've screamed for from the terraces for 16yrs it's a joy to behold! come back and join us mate every dictator gets dictated to in the end plus your overdue a pint with me and pughy

It's a real shame to here things like this from die hard fans. It's suppose to be the greatest time in our history and I feel for you that you feel that way. :(

Simon what an excellent post , I'm feeling the same been following the City since 84 And no matter how hard I try I just can't get into this season it feels as if I'm not part of it anymore like an outsider looking in on a club that I used to feel part of :(
