We have 9 games left and I honestly believe 3 more wins will be enough to take us up.

We would then have 84pts and in my opinion that would be enough, but I see Malky's team getting well over 90pts.

What do you honestly believe will take us up in wins?

as i have said all along "WATFORD"

ok it may of been less of an ask had we beaten leicester or derby (games we should have won on the form books) but 3 games and 9 points is WATFORD

weeks ago i used a computer program and worked out we needed 1.78 points per game for promotion

as of today we need 16.02 point out of the remaining 27
(3 wins inc watford, would leave us needing 7 points in the remaining 6 games) thats for champions mind not promotion

break that down as you wish but its 5 wins and 1 draw thats only needed if the other 2 teams below keep winning too or at least on the same average of 1.78 per game

i can see that happening, and when we have to play the one team that can affect our average HULL it will be too late.

Five more wins will be to go up as champions, just for promotion 88 points as always made it a certainty, but this season with everyone around us dropping points, 86 points will get us over the line, so we need 11 more, 3 wins and 2 draws or 4 wins for good measure.

I think we will get another 17 points so finish on 92

Let's not fanny about and leave it to chance 5 wins inc Watford and that would give us 90 points, a couple of draws thrown in and..Happy Days get the open top bus ready.

About 13 points to be certain - probably 4 wins. At least they can't clinch while I'm on holiday (I am only away for Peterborough and Blackburn).
I'm hoping they can clinch promotion at home against Forest or Charlton, then clinch the title against Bolton.

Now wouldn't that be something!

I know you said in wins but I reckon 3 wins and a draw will get us there (85pts).

4 wins for promotion 5 wins for champions

3 wins and 1 draw in 9 gives us 85 points

To go above us Hull would need - 18 Points (6 wins from 8 games)
To go above us Watford would need 20 points (7 wins or 6 wins and two draw from 8 games)
To go above us Palace would need 21 points (7 wins from 8 games)
Forest couldn't catch us.

That's really good runs for any team in the Championship.

I think Hull could drop points against Huddesfield, Watford and Ipswich
Watford against Watford against Hull, us and Leicester
Palace against Birmingham, Blackpool and Leicester.

Never mind the fact that two of those teams must achieve that near perfect end of the season to over take us.

The gap we have is also important. The only team with a similar gap is Newcastle (who had 10 points and a game in hand). Noe of the other teams around us are significantly impressive by Championship standards.

Also as a final bit, the first team to 74 points has been promoted for the past 5 seasons as champions.

To be comfortable 3 wins and a maybe 3 draws and Cardiff goes up for sure.

However based on schedules, I do think the club can squeek through on 2-3-4 but that would make for some uneasy scoreboard watching.

Of course best case scenario is Cardiff wins four in a row and everyone can relax for good.

I want us to win every game!

The number of wins we need also depends upon the number of draws we get in our last 9 games. For example 3 wins and 6 defeats may not be enough but realistically that is not going to happen. If we win 3 lose 3 and draw 3 that would put us on 87 points which is almost certain to be enough. Equally 2 wins and 7 draws would be enough as that would put us on 88points. The key is not losing and every win is a huge bonus.
