We do, and you know that we do.
We're paying for it, but on that note - “Personally I don’t see any benefit in us owning the stadium. The relationship with the council is a good one for the council and the city itself and it is right for us as a club.
“It provides stability as it keeps potential owners you do not want around the place well away, and that is a great thing for us.”
We're not just going to buy the stadium for the sake of it so that we can say we own our stadium.NEATHBLUES wrote:Sensible from them in all fairness. We'd sell 22,000 out every game, especially considering that it will allow us to have 17,600 season ticket holders.

Truth is you won't buy the stadium because you don't have to - you get to use it for f-all so why waste £40m or whatever.
In hindsight i wish our council had made ours and paid for it all, rather than the way it was done which saddled us with most of the original (pre-VT) debt (30m+) and almost put us under.
Its got nothing to do with owners, MM could sell whenever he wanted - the ownership of the stadium doesn't matter -it'll be the right to play in the EPL (shortly to be the WPL) that matters, but then even squidworth isn't stupid enough to think that -its just another cheap sideswipe because he can't resist it.
Squidworth doesn't like the truth though. prefers to avoid the administration, his own company going bust and the free stadium and preach about how people should do their business.
As far as the stadium expansion is concerned I think the tactics are right, you'll fill the 22k and probably most if not all of the 27k easily while you are in the Prem. 32k, well, we'll see.

Well yes, that's more or less what Jenkins has said and why should we spend something like £20 million on our stadium when it's not going to benefit our income significantly
I don't see how this is in any way a bitter comment from Jenkins, all he's doing is informing us about the expansion and future Stadium plans.

That's like our stadium can be extended to 27,000 without major work.So you'll have to wait a bit before you get bigger attendances then us,because I believe we already have planning permission to have 35,000
Who gives a f*ck if your stadium is a little bit bigger than the liberty.
A little bit? Try nearly 7k bigger jack. I'd love you lot to get a 32k stadium. You won't fill it. I know we are not there yet, but when we do and there's two premier league clubs in South Wales, you'll never fill the liberty at 32k

No it's not, 12 of the 20 Premier League clubs have foreign investors and we have made it clear we don't want to be one of them - don't flatter yourself, it's got nothing to do with you.
Well Leicester agreed to but the KP stadium for £17 million, but it really doesn't matter as we're not going to buy it.

Come on he's been at it for years. We all know he's not on about feckin Arsenal![]()
Leicester bought it off the Pension Fund. In fairness they had a strong hand as no-one else uses it, so got it for well under its market value which would have been £60-£70m.
Your stadium would be worth £40m, on the open market and also I would guess the council would want their full investment back at least- £27m wasn't it + fit out (our fit out was £15m).
Still as you say, its not going to happen.

Well your hardly unique are you, as I said don't flatter yourself, he's not bothered about how your run.
I don't think we'll sell out 22,000 because of our visit to Wembley, but because of our vast increase of support around the City which saw 25,000 people turn up to the trophy parade and that sees us selling out regularly at home in the Premier League and having much higher away attendances than yourselves.

He's on about foreign "investors" that take over football clubs and do what they want with them,
it's a big problem facing British football. Yes we also come under this bracket but he's not talking specifically about us. It's a perfectly valid reason as to why owning the stadium doesn't benefit them. It benefits us as we can use it as an asset to take loans out. They don't take unservicable loans out so don't need the stadium as collateral.

So you're saying because 25k turned up to the trophy parade that means they would watch all Swansea home games? It doesn't quite work out like that mush. Wait until we're in the Premier league and then you can compare away attendances.

I've never denied being parnassus. Parnassus was the name I used when this one was wrongly banned. Annis unbanned it upon investigation.
