Space for Sam now? Surely not!
Certainly space for another rich Malaysian businessman?

Why bring the red or blue crap up?

My opinion on the situation is this,
TG discovered our club and got VT on board, initially VT wanted a background role but has gradually become more 'front of house'
TG probably wanted out after the blue to red saga but VT asked TG to stay on, but as VT has come into the foreground of the club culminating in yesterday's tv interview, TG's position had become redundant and VT allowed him to step aside.

These things we should know about first hand....what a travesty. Anyone would think we only pay to watch football!........oh, wait...........
Ummm hes our chairman? Shouldn't fans be made aware if our chairman has stepped down? or at least shareholders.
Seems to me another one who disagreed about the rebrand has been shown the door! Not seen him in the stadium since last season.Shame really seemed a nice guy
Agree. We should have been told.......and he did seem a very nice guy. A much better front man than Tan IMO

I posted this on Mike's site as well:
Absolutely gutted to see TG go, I was fortunate to have quite a good relationship with him and met many times. He was ALWAYS honest and humble and went out of his way on many occasions to meet up (even ringing me on my mobile one day before kick off to find out where I was, as we had arranged to meet and I was running late) always made a fuss of my children and leaving the royal family for a few minutes to introduce himself to my father.
So gutted he's gone.I think he may have walked due to Tan.

With all the crap that's going on with the powers that be at the moment, the timing of this and everything else leaves a lot to be desired.

Cardiff chairman Dato Chan Tien Ghee has stepped down from his role with immediate effect.
The Malaysian, who has been chairman of the Championship club since 2010, is leaving to pursue other business opportunities.
Ghee introduced business partner Vincent Tan - his billionaire compatriot who now owns City - to the Welsh club when they were struggling financially under Peter Ridsdale.
A statement on Cardiff's official website said: "We wish to confirm that Dato Chan Tien Ghee has resigned as chairman and director of Cardiff City Football Club with immediate effect.
"TG is embarking on new career and business pursuits that requires his full attention.
"Given constraints of time and distance, TG believes he is unable to meet the demands of his position as chairman and board member of Cardiff City.
"We are greatly indebted to TG who, since joining in 2010, has been instrumental in the progress of the club to where it is today.
"We wish to record our deep appreciation for his invaluable contributions and efforts."

I can't help but think that this was a mutual decision between the two to enable Tan to offer SH the chairman position. As it looks as if we are going up, Tan will have to repay Langstone an additional amount of money (£5million was it?). Maybe they can come to some sort of agreement that a lower fee is paid if Sam becomes chairmen again before the season is up.

Well that's the last of the Blue sympathizers gone - shame as he was a decent bloke

Doubt he "resigned" though - probably given his marching orders with a little compensation package. Clearly this is my personal opinion though and could therefore be completely fictional and in no way seeks to speak the truth

Have we actually got a replacement yet then ?
As said already, there may be a genuine reason for this, but its still bad timing.

Totally agree, with all that's gone on in the last few days the timing isn't the best. All the best to TG, if it wasn't for him we may not be still afloat right now.
On the plus side it's a great opportunity for Tan to bring in a football man with experience at a higher level. He may surprise us all and bring in a Chairman with a proven track record

or he may bring in another yes man

Tim, I think it fits in with the recent Malaysian elections, don't think the Government there gave to much thought to the timing clashing with VT's interview re name change.
