That really is the sad part, they actually believe the shit they come out with. In fairness the usual bitter ones have kept it shut since Sunday.

We lost on penalties to Liverpool.

Remind me how that's bottling?

I think the word LOST should give you some idea.

Absolutely no shame in the loss considering.
I came away from that game proud of my club.
We are by far the most successful footballing cup team in the country.
More finals and semi-finals than any one else. ;) :D

:laughing5: :laughing5: :laughing5: This is classic, you won a final almost 90 years ago. Seriously is there anyone still alive who actually saw that game. Give over mate your making yourself look stupid.

Sorry, how are we making ourselves look stupid? We too Liverpool to penalties. You beat a team with a load of co op workers. The only thing that looks stupid is you boasting about a reserve cup game on a rivals clubs forum? Do one.

The cup isn't a one game thing though is it?

If Man United win the league on the last day of the season against Wigan, it doesn't mean that they only beat Wigan to win the whole league. They beat Liverpool 3-1 away in the quarters and Chelsea over 2 legs in the semis while we played palace.

Not getting your point. Lets stop the bitterness and move on, we are top of the league.

Liverpool team vs Swansea (1-3)
Jones
Coates
Carragher
Robinson
Cole
Henderson
Downing
Allen
Shelvey
Assaidi
Yesil
Anyone can beat that team..

Liverpool team vs Cardiff (2-2)
Reina
Johnson
Enrique
Agger
Skrtel
Gerrard
Henderson
Downing
Adam
Suarez
Carroll
We shouldn't of had a chance but we drew 1-1 in 90 minutes, how did we bottle it? And how did you 'dump' them out of the cup?

Re: its not a mickey mouse cup...but the opponents

Out of 4 games since going up we have only lost to Liverpool once! Drew away at Anfield, won at the Liberty, beat them in the cup quarter finals and lost fielding a second string away.

Yeah well done on taking them to penalties and bottling it!

You measure success by what you win, you have only won ONE trophy of note and that was in 1927 FFS!! You don't hear fans of really successful clubs harping on about how many finals they lost or semis they got to. Only thing that matters is winning them.

The second Liverpool team you mentioned was virtually the same one that couldn't beat us home or away last season.

Rubbish, I have heard plenty of clubs/pundits mention how many finals clubs have been at.
Do you have TV where you live?

Our Cup history even in the last decade shows we have won more cup games than you,got to more cup finals than you
and have better cup runs than you. Our name is on the greatest club cup in the world (no matter when it was won) Swansea is nowhere near it.
You have been in one major cup final and won.

Surely to win a trophy once is better than to have fallen at the final hurdle even 100 times?

Like I said, they won. Threads like this play right into their hands, makes us sound small.

How many major trophies have you won? Oh yes ONE!! Winners are always remembered, losers are forgotton.

By your strange logic, you are basically saying being a runners up or a loser is success. It's not. Winning = success nothing else!

Cardiff city talk about history all the time, Swansea city are making it. ;)

Well I would say to go further in cup runs you have to be winner where others lose.

I'd say both sides are correct and have a point, however pointless it may be.

Cardiff are the most successful cup side in Wales, historically speaking,

Swansea are the most successful Welsh side in living memory.

Correct, however neither club has any actual success in the FA cup in living memory. Cardiff have got further than Swansea though, that's true.

I'll go for that as there are many cup competitions better than the league cup outside of the UK.

As mentioned earlier, other clubs who have won the cup once are ..

Blackburn Rovers
Leeds United
Luton Town
Middlesbrough
Oxford United
Queens Park Rangers
Sheffield Wednesday
Stoke City
Swansea City
Swindon Town
West Bromwich Albion

Oh well, always next season to try at the bigger cup. ;)

Oh yes you really showed us.

They also beat Wigan, Watford, Villa and Arsenal and not only did we bit them but we destroyed them.

Having of course beat Chelsea over two legs and Liverpool away (you've listed their weakened team, but at the same time have failed to list our weakened time or at least state that we do have sufficient depth if you believe it's a strong team) to reach the final.

Also in terms of giving you credit for winning promotion if you do, yes I'd give you credit but how much money (that wasn't your own) did you spend to have to get there and how long did it take you to achieve it. Our achievement of promotion running our club sustainably is a greater one than racking up debts of up to £100 million before eventually getting promotion.
