TBH i dont think anyone knows how he thinks but he does seem to enjoy the prospect of developing a smaller club to glory over manageing a ready made 'big' club where failure means the sack

Believe it as much as the David Villa to Swansea on loan nonsense.

They'll have to have a wall dedicated to the 'Annual Manager-in-Office', a bit like the Councils do with their Mayors

Strewth, it would take a big big wall if they back-filled it with those from recent years

Swansea Town: Managerial Stepping Stone ;) :ayatollah: :laughing6:

Reminds me of Uncle Brendan a bit...

Rodgers chased the prestige and cash. Laudrup needs neither of those and will not go to any club where he does not have complete control.

So you are actually saying you think that if Real Madrid wanted Laudrup, he would stay put?

Just like martinez told them he'd never leave, then as soon as a bigger club came in, he left. :laughing6:

Laudrup has said a few times now that he will not be a football manager that long, he has also played for the biggest clubs in the world, been there and done it all. You can say what you want but i belive he will still be at swansea next season and maybe the one after that, and remember this is a guy who turned liverpool down when liverpool had the best team in europe, you don't know what makes him tick, he is happy at swans, seems to be a honest guy we are lucky to have him.

As soon as laudrup realises that only thing swansea offers is a few beaches and cliff walks probably only occupied by old people , bird spotters and flashers and it's main tourist attraction is a degrained green apple kiosk he will f**k off from there the same as martinez and rogers..

Just saying that to please the fans for the moment, he ain't going to say "yeh I'd like to manage a top club given the opportunity" fans would kick off! Rodgers said he wouldn't leave and look what happened to him few weeks later boom he was gone

look people if laudrup goes he goes , sir huw will just get someone else in and on we will go from strength to strength like we have done for the last decade
Every manager we have had has improved on the one before even the bitterest of you dwarves must admit this , we are a club that is constantly adapting to every challenge and doing it with style is what makes swansea one of the most talked about sides in british football at the moment , and doing it whilst making a profit and playing fantastic football :thumbright:

it hasnt done you any harm in the past, i agree. but, sooner or later it will backfire. if your constantly losing your best players/managers sooner or later your going to bring in someone that wont have a positive effect or isnt as good as what youve previously had. law of averages says you cant get it right every time.

well its clear he knows what he's doing. but sometimes in football things dont work out.

being a prudent club who is constantly selling their best players and changing managers a) wont always be a success and b) lacks ambition IMO.

I cant believe anybody who thinks laudrup is not interested in the madrid job. All managers want to better themselves and if moyes went from everton malky would take it like a shot if offered. I believe if laudrup does want to go he will make sure that he signs a contract which allows swansea ample compensation.
regardless of if and when or how long both clubs stay in the premiership our clubs will always be stepping stones for players and managers alike. just look at arsenal as an example the last few seasons with the players they have lost.

so how good will it get for swansea in the prem then? this season you'll have had a cup win and bar a disaster, a comfortable mid-table finish. is that as good as it gets?

Never understood that question.

In 10 years they have gone from 92nd to 9th in the footballing system. The gulf between 9th to 92nd is far far far greater than 9th to 1st. They could potentially become the best team in the league.

Anyway back to the subject in hand, all the noises are he will snub Real Madrid and sign an extension with the Jacks :-

Makes no difference. They would get compo now, he's under contract. If they want £5m they would get £5m.

He is going to snub real this year as he wants to stay with Swansea next season. The new contact will then protect the club should he then decide to leave the year after.

it's impossible to say how good or bad it could be because i've lost my crystal ball but if we could challenge for top 6 next season and maybe a good run in europe , at the moment i don't think that's beyond the realms of possibility but who knows we could go tits up , but that will just be another part of the rollercoaster ride
