I doubt it's bollocks.

In fact it's entirely probable. Just not very interesting, any less than £50m and he'd probably be accused of not giving the club a chance to stay up. It's a normal budget.

Everyone automatically thinks "transfer fees" which isn't the case at all. And the "journalist" knows that hence the reason it's been released, and judging by some responses has had the desired effect with the "champions league here we come comment" completely ignoring that's less than Wigans war chest every year.

There is no way they know what money Tan is going to give the manager. Half the time I don't believe the club have any clue what they're doing themselves let alone anyone outside the club having a bloody clue. Its just another bullshit story made by the press to sell their rags. All of them can do one.

But last season we were going to sign Snodgrass for £8 million according to the press at around this time of the season!

So this must be true.

No I agree. But what I'm saying is that - this what a promoted club normally gets in the way of a war chest so to speak. There is no reason to think the figure is bollocks, maybe this particular story is bollocks in terms of its origin.

But as I said Swansea spend £44 mill in their first season and that was seen as prudent.

Heard Tan has told Malky he can only target Liverpool, Arsenal or Man U players. Red only basically.

Like Bilbao can only use Basque players only players familiair with a red shirt can be considered for the Cardiff Malaysian Dragons FC.

Players with a history of wearing blue will be considered unlucky.

if i were Tan i would be worrying about staying up rather than eclipsing the acheivments of the mighty Swans, with 50 million in the kitty you will be paying through the nose for players, if i were tan i would keep any prospective transfer war chests close to their chests a fool and his money and all that

Its just a lazy article. No quotes from Tan. Tans big plan doesnt involve some petty rivalry with the peg sellers.

He knows nothing about heritage anyway probable doesnt release we have rivalry with them.

He won't even know who Swansea City are, or anybody else for that matter bar Liverpool

I'm not so sure.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the aim was to get all of Wales following us and the only way that's going to happen is if we're the top team.

That would probably be the thinking of the Welsh Dragon rather than a Chinese one.

That's actually really worrying. Look what happened to Pompey. A transfer budget of 30m is at most for me. Firstly let's actually take one step of a time and get there. I'd much rather try the build the squad and completely focus on surviving our first season. I'd much rather take the Norwich/Swansea route in the PL.

Why aren't people understanding?

£50 million is wages and transfers combined. The average wage bill for the clubs in and around the relegation zone is around £35 million per year, probably more next year with the increase in tv money. Leaving £10 mill - £15 mill for actual transfer fees.

This is a normal budget for any promoted side.

I think a lot of you are missing the point, this £50m will be on top of the normal £30/40m we will get to spend ( if promoted) off the premier league

His money, his debt, his risk, we may as well go bust for a zillion as a pound, once our assets value had been passed all the loss will be his.

As with Abramovich, when you got that much money it becomes about one up-manship and succeeding rather than another million pound in your bank.

Spot on - A bit of positive press put out to counter act the re brand disharmony. Got to get to the Promised land first and then we will see what funds are available and whether we still are Cardiff City FC - The Bluebirds.

One step at a time I suppose, a good win at Wolves would be welcome :malky:

I have always suggested that, next year, Cardiff City will be a top 10 Premiership side - and I stand to be shot down if this turns out to be incorrect.

Tan Sri is a man of immense wealth and the Berjaya Group (Berjaya means "Success") is worth so much more.

It is my understanding that a finish in the bottom half of the Premiership table would be considered as a failure next year.

Finishing in the top 10 would promote Tan Sri, across Asia, in the manner in which he wishes to be seen. By the time we are in the Premiership it is likely that he will own the club fully and any payment of £50-75m will be "his money".

Good times are ahead.

Here are the wage bills of premier league clubs in 10/11

http://m.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/m ... rofit-debt

With the increase in TV money £50m on wages and transfers would almost definitely give us the lowest wage bill in the premiership. £75m would be a minimum for wages and transfers next year if we went up.

Even if it is adam whats the diffrence, still a non debt free club both ways its what hes owed one man, f**k if somebody owes me £20 quid im hounding them, i think its another media spin by the club as we have had a few, but like one poster said its still near the bottom of wages bills int he prem and thats what it might take to stay up eitherway if the club are going off otherclubs wage bills per season.
