I wouldnt want a different Cardiff club more than you do, but whats left? my CCFC is dying a slow death, I know some see it as achievement, to me and many others its heartbreaking. and I really mean that.
to me the only thing left is the name CCFC, and I define my club's identity by its colour, crest and name. the values of my club, the traditions...things that are currently stamped on.
said it b4, seriously tried to accept the changes, telling myself it doesnt mean anything, just carry on. but i cant lie to myself.
still got a bit of hope left, someone would come in and turn things around. but our problem is our disunited fanbase, if we stood united against the changes, we would have succeeded. and I dont mean bully Tan, but to make him realise his path is wrong.
but as us traditionalists were laughed at, belittled and even threatened, the divide became greater and many of us drove this even further away.
all of you, who find it funny, call people names like drama-queens etc ask yourselves if your actions might have a direct impact on what is happening now?
of course, a new AFC Cardiff wouldnt be the same as the club we grew up with, but it would/could be more "our" club than the red CCFC currently is.
and what options do we have?
- support a rebranded club, that feels foreign to oneself? honestly, at this very moment, I feel more passion for Wrexham...
- pick a different club to support after all these years?
or
- try to establish a new local club along many of your old mates, trying to carry on the traditions and identity of your beloved original club. not the same, no...but better than the first option
yes, it is just a game, but for many of us our CLUB (not the name or the colour) matters most. imagine Tan would have left us blue but changed crest and name? my reaction, my feeling would be the same as it is now. it is unacceptable, its not just a name, its not just a colour, its not just a crest...it is our CLUB, our heritage, our identity, our tradition, our passion...
if you find that funny? well, cant help you then...
