Sitting 8 clear at the top with a game in hand. One of the best, if not the best squad weve ever had. A good young & hungry manager, a youth set up thats improving all the time. decent attendances, talk of increasing the capacity. A club that is ready for the premier league.

Bollocks. Your fans base is full of plastics and newcomers, just like ours will be (and partly is at the moment) if we get promoted - they don't care about the history, they just want to see premier league football. The hardcore among your supprots may try and stop it, just as ours did, but you'd be ostracized and pushed out until you felt alienated and either:
1) Walked away
2) Accepted it because you just couldn't bring yourself to leave

That's how it works, it's happened here and other clubs before us, and no doubt will happen to other clubs in the future.
