Bristol City for me. Again, its probably a generational thing. The Severnside derbies in the early 70s were great. Also, I lived in Cardiff from 1976 until 2010, and worked as a storekeeper. We would see loads of delivery drivers from Bristol, (big depot at Avonmouth), mostly City fans, but some Gas as well. Can honestly not recall any Swansea fans, the few that did come from there were either not interested, or egg-chasers.

Despite the rivalry, I actually got on OK with Bristolians, in later years, at least. City and Rovers really hate each other, though

Didn't know until the new Jack's attitude to everything, with the 'number 1 team in Wales' and 'Everyone's second team' bullshit. Its just something about the jacks that just boils my blood

Worzels ever since the Aberfan chants and what was a record number of arrests that night. That said when Alan Dicks was the manager in the early seventies and they got promotion to the old Division One = what a gentleman we played their youth team and should of played on Ashton Gate but because he had a lord mayors parade for promotion party we could not play at their ground so he he treated us to £50 of notes which we spent on beer which was a lot of money in those days. Lots of South Wales fans also went across the bridge for the big games.

For me it is Swansea, probably because of where I grew up and live but I don't feel anywhere near the intensity against the Wurzels as I do when we play the Jacks.

The days leading up to a derby against the Jacks has the blooding pumping and my adrenalin racing, I just don't get that when we play Bristol City.

Which one is it for you ?

It's all about age I think Carl as I have said before I remember the aberfan chants at Ashton gate in the 70's which sparked riots in the streets afterwards. With Swansea it's only the last ten or so years have I seen them as rivals.
City games at Ashton gate gate were always lively off the pitch as well whereas despite Swansea lads protestations its always been quite tame at the vetch

love the way so many older fans on here dismiss us, whilst forgetting that since 1980 we have easily outdone you. Infact if it wasn't for Sams money and millions of debt the last 30 odd years would have been even more one sided. So lets be honest unless your 45+ all this talk of swansea being irrelevant is just nonsense

Your arrogant attitude is why you are hated. Outdone us since 1980? Since 1983 you have finished above us no more than 6 or 7 times and have only been a league above us for 3 or 4 seasons. When your bubble finally bursts I'm looking forward to seeing you with crowds of 5k again.

Wrong on so many points. Suggest you go check your facts as like I said if it wasnt for sams money the 30 odd years since I saw my first game as a nipper in 79-80 would have been even more dominated by us. You seem to forget the late 80s to late 90s when we ALWAYS finished above you. Add in the arrogance of the sam years the ullshite comments about us support you lot as the ONLY way to get PL football :laughing5: and the constant media attention and bigger than barca crap is it any wonder we have enjoyed and made the most of our last 3 glorious seasons? You last comment sums it up though you lot seem to have forgotten how bad your crowds used to be pre fa cup and pre sam. It seems if our crowds are now plastics but the rise from your 5k crowds has been done by true life long fans.

Re: BRISTOL CITY OR SWANSEA TOWN ?

You cannot be a rival unless your in the same division, as you are rivals for the same thing.

Its about clubs you dislike (HATE is a very strong word). I don't dislike Cardiff people I work in Cardiff every day. I dont really want bad things to happen to Cardiff City and would never want them out of business. However when it comes to a local derby the ones I have experienced over the last 30 years have been a cauldren and a fantastic place to be unlike any other game even against Man Utd.

I miss the derbys, so we can both show the other premier league clubs what a charged meeting between two clubs is like. No violence please though there is no need as one thug threw a bottle that hit my lad in the head when he was 6 at ninian park.

Rivals next season for sure. Mutual grudge respect each other ,but show two Welsh teams in the greatest league in the World.

Here we go again. We werent allowed it was a creditors agreement and as our major creditor was Mel nurse it was passed.
Good job your council didnt help you with the ground, good job your current debt isnt tens of millions, good job you dont operate under a regime that seems to do as it once with your clubs identity, good job you lot didnt prostitute yourselves around asia like some cheap rent boy looking for a pay day.

Bristol have helped kill it as a derby by never turning up in any numbers away. Became just another game.

They blame the restrictions and, to be fair, with them being lifted this time they are turning up.

Them being so crap for years hasn't helped either as we're always at the other end of the table.
