Why on earth should two people who are in love not have the right to get married? It's ludicrous.

Its not natural for a start - woman was created for man - simple

It's not natural? Doggy style isn't necessarily natural going on that basis... if doggy style is natural though then doesn't that mean homosexuality is natural because the male g-spot is the prostate gland.

Its not the sexual position its the male and male concept

Are your views influenced by religion or are they non-religious views? Just interest to know where your thinking is coming from. You use the term "created" which suggests you might be religious which would be pointless continuing this debate because then we would get into the chicken vs the egg argument!

Religious Zabier - the chicken and egg is simple , since everything was created the chicken came first - see its simple - also this subject is very contentious so this will be my last post on it as it doesnt affect CCFC :) but have a good day :ayatollah:

Booo! Get back here! I'm bored! :D

So by saying that do you think that infertile men and women should be refused the right to get married?

No because that's a defect, not a choice, you're trying to compare disabled people with gay people ;)

I would not even use the word disabled for someone that can't have kids mate.

I know I realised that after I wrote it  , what I mean is there's a difference between a defect and a choice

Yeah, that's not what I meant, I'm saying you can't compare defects with choices, an infertile man will still want to have sex because it fulfills his evolutionary desire, there's a big difference between that and gay sex, the argument doesn't stand.

I see what you are saying but I really am finding it impossible to agree with what you are saying. Think we will just have to agree to disagree. I just don't think there's any harm in gay marriage. How does it hurt others? Imagine if a law came in saying that those that had tattoos and piercings were not allowed to be married to people that didn't have tattoos or piercings due to them not being natural. It's a murky argument.

Good I'm glad my views can be accepted without someone going nuts, I also understand your arguments and would like to think that I would never be predjudiced towards a gay person based on their sexuality, but that doesn't mean I still find it wrong. Just saying. :)

I'm not religious. The laws of marriage come from religion.

They can do what they like. It's not my business. Who are we to say different?

Lol @ people going out of their way to stop this. What a waste of your own personal time.

"I'm against same sex marriage"
"On What basis?"
"'Cause traditional marriage is between one man and one woman, the Bible says so"
"Actually, King Solomon had 700 wives... and traditional marriage according to Deuteronomy means that a man who rapes a woman must marry her, so try again."
"I think gay people are icky."
"There you go..."

to, so what, it dont bother me!!

Same here. Doesn't effect me what they do.
However if they're in public kissing doing all that nonsense then I would feel uncomfortable.
Don't see why they shouldn't get married it should be there right. Like it is most of ours.

What I find amusing is the fact that the ones against gay marriage arguing that marraige means "the union of a man and woman in the eyes of god" how many of them attend Church regularly? To me it all comes down to homophobia

For me its not up to me to decide whether religons should allow it. The best action would to grant the same rights of married people to people in civil partnerships.

Its just down to genetics just like everything else. It occurs throughout the animal kingdom.

Paedos though are competely different and it isnt down to genetics its simply that they are somewhat mentally deranged.

I'm not going to tell people to like all gay men and women but they still deserve the same rights as everyone else

I know gay couples that could provide a far better upbringing for a child than some of the drug riddled right offs you see on Jeremy Kyle every morning.

1500 species exhibit homosexual behaviour. Yet only humans exhibit homophobic behaviour. So which is the unnatural one? Fail.

Can't say I agree with that. The Countryside Alliance didn't want interferance when Fox hunting was banned due to the overwhelming marjority of people beliving that it was a disgusting and barbaric practise.

Gay marriage shouldn't be allowed but I can see the common sense of a civil partnership. The difference IMO is marriage is the bedrock of family life and it is impossible for same sex couples to produce offspring in the way hetrosexuals can.

Therefore being denied marriage is not treating them less favourably, they simply do-not fit the criteria for marriage and should stick to civil partnerships instead.

So marriages that cant produce offspring due to sterility should be null and void because they dont meet your criteria?

Not being gay I can't really talk for people that are. But the response was to the notion that homosexuality is unnatural. Which is stupid. Hope this clears things up

Why do all the anti-gay people think this issue is so black and white?
"They can't have kids so they can't get married" is absolutely ridiculous. We all know there are millions of heterosexual men and women that can't have children. We also all know that there are millions of heterosexual men and women unfit to have children through countless different reasons. Should they not get married as well?

The difference IMO is marriage is the bedrock of family life

That IMO bit shows it is your opinion, but it is not correct. Marriage is not there to be a bedrock of family life, its a commitment of 2 people that are in love to spend the rest of thier lives together. It has nothing to do with children.

You (and anyone else) can try to sound sincere and thought provoking through your arguments on this subject but all it comes down to is ignorance and homophobia. The only legitimate argument is the religious aspect, and religion is ignorant and homophobic.

What does that prove? The scum on Jeremy Kyle I'd have put down.

Still doesnt mean that kids should be exposed to Daddy and Daddy kissing and hugging
in the kitchen. Its NOT natural behaviour. Any more than kids being forced to watch

Getting married-marriage is out of date and should be scrapped all together. Its pointless in this day and age.
